An incredible cast of Broadway ALL STARS led by Ted Chapin and Kurt Peterson performed the Stephen Sondheim cult show - Follies. I knew that I would get emotional, but I was not prepared for this evening. I'm so blessed that I got to have this experience. I hope you enjoy but warning - I get emotional in the video, and I'm not sorry about it.

The RU-vid algorithm is spooky…I was sitting next to you! I’m so glad you had such a meaningful experience.

I was there too. It was electrifying. They had not told us in advance who was going to be performing what. For weeks, this seemed frustrating but it turned out to be so much fun to be surprised. So it was stunning to find out it was Jennifer Holliday for “I’m Still Here”. She was beyond description.

I agree, the anticipation and wondering was part of the excitement.

Glad you had a great night at the theater. Sounds amazing. Why do you like sitting in the first row?

I don't always, depends on the house. That was all that was left when I bought the ticket. But I like meeting so close that I'm almost "in it". Plus, I get really distracted by rude, inconsiderate people and when you're in the front, there are much fewer to worry about.

I like the first row because then no tall person can sit in front of me. In April 1971, my best friend was having a fling with Sondheim, so he gave my friend two tickets to the opening of Follies - and he took me! Yes, I was at the opening of the original Follies - most breathtaking theatrical experience of my long, theatre-filled life, both as an audience member and a performer. By the way, there was no intermission in the show then, and it flowed a lot better, though Who’s That Woman still stopped the show. And the glory of Ethel Shutta’s orthopedic shoes as she sang Broadway Baby - there are no words.
