Thanks for the support as always mate. I do have a few concerns with the entire drainage system, I have however installed to the drawing In my opinion the runs are to long under the building, the only stack shown with a rodding point on is one in the middle, but you would struggle to get into it, building control have signed this off and are happy with it, only time will tell

Tom £5 for that toolbox was a bargain, when working on building sites we used to just get the chippy to make us a box/ tray and we would bend a bit of 22mm for a handle and then we would screw it to the box. it would last us for ages. It was always made long enough to span the roof trusses. Regards Glenn.

You’ve been a busy fella Tom. Looking good on this job it’s annoying when the customer wants to add more work while you’re on with the job. I was doing a bathroom remodel a couple of years back that ended up costing about 3k more when he decided to have a pumped shower with extra tanks and the en-suite shower adding to the pump and extra radiators and a fancy cabinet with Bluetooth speakers, Jesus he wanted the world and I’m saying look you can have me for a few more days then that’s it. They don’t listen sometimes and then you’re the bad guy.
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Год назад
It's an absolute nightmare sometimes to juggle stuff, I completely get that sometimes things change or extra work is needed but you never seem to get an extra time to do it, most of the time it's not so much of an issue but when the jobs are tight on time an extra week or so of work is quite a bit to ask, especially when I'm needed on other jobs, thanks for the support as always mate

Hi Tom, you are still a very busy man, as you say lots going on there to keep you occupied. All that pipe work looks fantastic, I like to put my pipe clips in line too, I also line the crosses up in the screw heads, yep my ocd is bad. When I have finished the job looks bob on, even though I say it myself. You are a fantastic worker Tom, don’t be too hard on yourself, I’ve been around plumbing for 50 years, I know a good worker when I see one and you are fantastic. Thanks for the support as always Chris, I know what you mean about OCD, stuff has to look right otherwise I can't walk away, I'm nearly there with all the tough work on this job now, I can relax a bit when I've got all the pipes tested and lagged so I'm not holding anyone up, I always worry until the pipes have been tested

Thanks for the support Glen, I think it could make for quite an interesting video, to be honest I love looking through jumble sales and car boots and you sometimes do find a bargain, you see a lot of stuff online from tradesman who have really expensive loadouts, which is great, but when you first start out you can get by with the basics which you can sometimes find quite cheap. My record bender that I paid £5 for, has outlasted the rothenberger one which snapped after about 2 years

I remember when i was an apprentice on a social housing job fitting a cwsc with combined f&e above the cylinder, in a tenanted property after taking out a leaking galvanised one. I witnessed the engineer i was working with using 2 spanners, 2 screwdrivers and a 15mm & 22mm pipeslice to do the job... The finished pipework was all compression fittings and tbh looked like a pile of crap to me, but i had maximum respect even up to today😂...
@PlumbLikeTom

To be honest mate you don't need that many tools to do most jobs, there are lots of gimmicks available now which can make the job easier but you can also get by with just the basics especially when just starting out, I have bought stuff that I never use, thanks for watching as always Carl

@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Год назад
You are correct mate, the frame ideally should have been 75mm further forward to line up with the drain, the problem I had was on the drawing it showed the frame 200mm from the block wall, with 1200mm in front of the pan for wheel chair access I guess, all the drains on this job have been wrong, and to be honest I got a bit fed up of altering them all, they will have to put a step in the boxing or move the drain, my work is exactly to the drawing, thanks for watching as always
