This song, to me, is actually about two people. The "rising star" and the "soldier". The soldier is forged by the pains of the World, able to live and navigate in it like nobody else. The rising star is someone the soldier loves. Someone who also understands pain, in a different way, but with the same essence. Someone who can comfort, not only the soldier, but also the entire World. The Flame is their Work. Like a Phoenix. This song resonates with me because... well. Long story

I agree. The soldier is prepared through suffering to bring hope to the world, but he needs the rising star to do it. His heart is so crushed by existence, it takes the love of his rising star to 'finally burn' and motivate him to act.

Is it just, or does the mix just sound... weak? I played it on two sets of speakers and it still sounds muddy, like it's lacking the dynamic range to separate the vocals from the guitars

Song is good, her voice amazing as usual, but the mixing is really bad, it sounds opaque and plastic. It's really a pity, this song could have sounded 10 times better.
