The world in the time of Jesus was a treacherous place. Danger was just an everyday part of life. Many of the modern systems that are currently in place did not exist back then and one had to be cautious. Going against societal norms was a dangerous business. You need the help and care of others if you were going to survive. So, Jesus’ message of going against the norm was a shocking and scary one for many. It is still so today for many of us. We all need the security of belonging to some degree. Jesus commands us to not fear and to go against the societal norms. Come join us as we look deeper into this in today’s message.
