KaitieBugg I had that but it was Andy biersacks quote “life gives you enough scars you don’t need to manufacture your own” I was a saaaaaad 12 year old. I had it easy than oml
STORY OF MY LIFE RIGHT THERE. I remember getting my 3b-3c hair permanently straightened just so I could do that long-ass curtain fringe. Just......... Why.
Ahh I see your 10 your old self forgot the ULTIMATE warning..the forbidden thing one could never admit..you could never admit you were emo/scene thus you would loose all scene/emo credibility and would become a poser *instantly*! This was always the dumbest thing ever (that even highschool me did lmao) because the more one would deny their emo-ness the more emo they'd be despite it being fairly obvious that they're emo.
I remember this lol and if you called yourself scene/ emo the other obviously scene/ emo kids would make fun of you even though you're all literally doing the same thing hahah
@@j.t.6456 Yes if you weren't born with teased hair and eyeliner on and if you didnt come out of the womb with a band t shirt already on you were in fact a poser 😂
Omg. I love this. I found you years ago when my daughter watched you. She is now 24. So when you put out a video I watch. I can remember her wanting so bad to be emo. LOL. I love this. How about doing something from the 80’s-90’s. Almost the same hair. So much teasing. We were called the Rockers or stoners. Big hair and as many bracelets as we could get on. Compare it to your video. Good to see your doing well.
Ah! I remember when I was 14 in 2008 and starting my scene kid era and my mom being totally into it because it reminded her of how she dressed and had her hair in the 80’s.
Sorry but I felt that 10000% when she said she looks like the picture she’d show her stylist at Supercuts and then the lady would refuse to do her hair that way 😂
I've already have had my midlife crisis, the only thing thats keeping me from being scene is my hair. Gotta wait for it to grow so I can dye it how I want it and then, I will become what child me has always wanted
Just wait. Once I hit 25,I dropped whatever bullshit I had been doing, and went back to the glory days and haven't looked back. My tween self would be proud. Not really scene..but went back to my comfortable punk days. It feels right and true and I finally feel comfortable.
I just teased my hair stylist who has been doing my hair for like 14 years that I should go back to scene hair and she said "I'm totally down let's do it" and now I kind of want to...
Actually there was a lot of judgement to be had. Both from outsider 'normies' and from 'elitists' in the community. But people did it anyway. That type of shameless, uncompromising rebellion was the best thing.
yeah even if people were judgmental I just miss when a lot of people wore interesting things. I wear j fashion sometimes as an adult and I hate getting looks and rude comments. Most people do dress pretty normie now and it makes me sad
@@GalladofBales my clothes aren't TOO out there but they are a bit bold and extra. I get looks every now and then but I just ignore them and put a little more confidence in my step. Carry your awesomeness with you and to hell with the normies.
Omg I remember when my best friend’s older sister decided she was goth in 2004, so my bestie and I also decided we were goth and therefore had to listen to Evanescence 24/7
I wrote style guides, concert guides, and tutorials for SceneQueens.com for, like, 4 years. This reminds me SO MUCH of my “Style Guide For The Aspiring Scene Queen” from then. Wow.
My god i remember wanting to look like this SO BAD in middle school 😭💀💀 this was so funny and cringy to watch bc it just brought back so many memories😅
I miss how fashion was more colorful back then. When I was a teenager the main styles for girls were either alternative or feminine. I never dyed my hair but I wore graphic t-shirts. Senior year is when I started dressing more feminine/wearing makeup but I was still in my primitive stages lol!
Haha this is so great. This reminds me of middle school when I was too shy to be actually be scene so I’d just do little subtle things to try and be my true self that was crying to get out. Like the concealer lips, 1000 wristbands, and the ONE pair of red skinny jeans I was allowed to get from zumiez.
i literally screamed "NOOOOO" when you put your finger in the gray eyeshadow and i immediately was thrown back to horrible middle school days LMAO i screamed so loud my mother in the other room heard me and was like "YESSS"
Shannon, I've been watching your channel for years. Your videos have brought me so much joy in that time. And at times, they even showed me that I'm not alone since I got diagnosed with bipolar disorder this year. I love your music and it's amazing to see how much you've grown. Thank you for being you. 💚🖤💚🖤💚🖤💚
@@PixelTheExtraTerrestrial yes the brocore kids!! It was more about metal and screamo and shit, To me they were the second gen scene kids. they all wore basketball shorts with metal band tees and a fitted cap LOL
This was so nostalgic. I miss it haha. 😂 I remember my hair was too soft to do scene hair so I intentionally damaged it by bleaching it multiple times so I could have scene hair😂
Please publish the guide. I remember being 14 and I didn't want to tease my hair so I just razored the layers super super short and hair sprayed the shit out of it. The urge to cut my hair back into a mullet is strong.
Omfg when you said you look like a picture you'd take to Supercuts and they would refuse to do it, that was pin point accurate to me at 12. I need a moment LMAO I vividly remember the stylist looking HELLA confused and I was trying so hard to explain. so I started cutting my own hair with a razor blade bc I watched RU-vid "how to cut your hair scene" videos and omg.
dude my jaw DROPPED when i saw you on my recommended.. i watched you years ago during my lil scene phase and had completely forgotten about you!! nice to see youre still doing your thing
Girl, I went through a scene phase and I had hot pink osiris shoes and I'd wear them untied and wayyy to loose, I broke my ankle in my white ones; they were tight that time though lmao
I had white ones with pink zebra and purple cheetah print panels lmao. I twisted my ankles skating all the time cause I never tied them and wore them too loose
i remember watching you since the beginning of your channel over what, five years ago? you’ve grown so much since then and watching you in this video made me so nostalgic. love you shannon!!
Wow. I used to watch you years ago.. I subbed to you on my old account and totally forgot how much I loved your videos. ALSO we're close to the same age(turning 24 in January)... Anyway I'm glad you're still making videos AND I'm so glad I found you again!
lordddd i remember watching your old videos as soon as they came out & i was obsessed with the whole emo look. i was scene asf sophomore year of high school, people didn’t know me.. they knew my hair lmao. it’s so fun for me still watching your videos even now, many years later. :) love ya! ❤️
Lol I was in a “band” called Farther Than Tomorrow that only lasted 1 band practice and then we never did anything else after that. To make it worse this was only 3 years ago when I was a senior in high school. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Dude you’re like the only person I know that has looked good with green hair for this long. (We messaged back and forth a few years ago, I’ve always loved ur look!! You have always been so sweet💕)
This really took me back to when I was in 6th grade and watching your videos because I wanted to be emo so bad. This is a really nostalgic video for me haha
