@@serapheid3669It’s a different thing but I feel like every time I’ve cooked anything Indian I’ve had to approximate some rare seasoning by mixing together 3 other seasonings.
Kind of, but he’s also clearly someone with some cooking experience. To me it’s more like watching a legit cook make good food without trying too hard or making it look pretty, rather than an amateur showing anyone can do it
@@KAR1492 you can't really mess up 100% of something you are already good at, it actually takes effort to pretend to be bad if you're good at something out of muscle memory
There’s something ironic about babish over complexifying a burger where the movie is about complexifying the service industry and how it ruins individuals and that something as simple as a cheeseburger brings someone back
this is really just an aside, but it's also kinda ironic that 'complexifying' was used in a comment on making things unreasonably complicated (no offense btw)
I really want to see you cook in the babish studio or something similar, proper lighting, color grading and all that stuff. I really just need to know if you're making the food radioactive or if its the house you live in
I love everything about this, I’d guess he works in food, maybe a line cook or chef, I like that even with his obvious skill it’s never quite like the influencer
@@nefertiti1052 Makes sense. Even tho he never follows the instructions exactly, and often changes ingredients, he still makes something edible in the end. If he was an amateur, that wouldn't happen. I think the biggest things holding him back is his limited kitchen appliances, and also maybe laziness preventing him from going to the store and getting the exact stuff he needs, lol
@@Utonian21 it also just makes sense, he's just making a recipe once, it would be a waste to buy a bunch of stuff he doesn't regularly have a use for afterwards when there's already a decent substitute at home.
I love this guy. I haven't watched cooking channels in almost a year, but he just makes me laugh my ass off and shows me how to be semi lazy when following other creators recipes.
Man I used always feel under when watching the perfect food youtubers. Your videos motivated me to cook even if I am not too confident or missing some ingredients. After all, I cook more often and I'm actually having fun.
I fucking love this guy. The monotone ironic instructions, the "improper" ingredients or tools that still work perfectly. The guy is very obviously a skilled chef, whether he considers himself that or not. Very relatable and I wish him much success.
The Menu's Analysis was beautiful and not AT ALL what I expected from the movie. I was expecting a lab grown Hollywood "get out" flick and instead it was surprisingly heartfelt and had something to say.
You can make good Fries pretty easy. Cut them, put them in salted water, let them sit, dry them a bit on paper towel and fry them (you can take them out, dry them again on a papertowel, wait for a few minutes and fry them again till golden brown)
So when I first found this channel a few weeks ago I saw a recommended video and thought that it was just going to be a meme-y shit show of fails. It is a meme-y shit show but is actually full of wins.
He subscribes to the idea of prestige cooking, he cooks the way home cooks aspire to be able to. If you want basic recipes made with cheap ingredients there's plenty of those channels around, but they're never going to be as big as Babish because people like looking up to something.
@@breadpilled2587 It means different things to different people. No one is saying simple cooking can't be artful, or that cooking in a complicated way makes it artful. A lot of people just don't want to watch simple cooking because seeing a slightly more involved process with more pomp and circumstance is more interesting to watch.
Not him casually flexing on us and finally showing his true power AT 1%!!! 8:23. I see you Mr. I can't cook but can perfectly julienne an onion. Im onto you 👁
I like the colour of your buns much more and also black sesame seeds is my favourite. "Nothing more American than using other culture ingredient." Well you dmn right. 😂
Ok, those knife skills with that onion? The fact that he just happened to use a processed cheese to avoid the need for sodium citrate? We all know that the whole "I don't know how to cook, really" is a bit by now, right?
Man you are hilarious 🤣🤣! I have been binge watching you for the past 6 hrs and i want more Lmao. I wish I found your page sooner.. but not to worry I will watch every one of your videos
