Hey Austin- Good to see you. I'm your old neighbor. My kids say hi. They are all married with kids and living in various different parts of Utah. Good to see you still having fun fishing and doing so well at it. I get out when I can but am not pulling in the big ones. Say hi to your folks and Camille for us. Good luck in your upcoming tournaments. :)
Loved watchin this video...I'm out at Folsom every week and it's always interesting to me to watch other peoples videos to see how they breakdown Folsom, especially someone of your caliber. Just my 2 cents from a dumb bass guy too and by someone who was there watching the weigh-ins...It was 90 degree's outside and one of the weigh-in helpers was telling all the teams waiting in line to bag their fish before they got to the scales to save time. Each team at the scales took about 3-5 minutes I'm guessing, so 3, 4 and 5 boats back some of those bass are now in a bag with 90 degree heat outside for 15 minutes or more with a lot of time outside that livewell. I watched a few OG anglers tell that guy no, they weren't going to bag their fish until the driver headed to the scale. Not to mention the scales and bass tank were in direct sunlight in 90 degree heat outside. I think all of that was just to much for some and they expired.
Hey bro you brought in your fish alive, you did your part you can’t control anything after that it is what it is ppl are always going to say something, I will still be fishing FPT tournaments until other tournaments stop charging so much damn money to fish I’m a Single father of two I can’t dish out $500-700 for these other tournaments.. in the famous words of Kat Williams " haters are going to hate let them do there job" 😂😂 nice video bro keep it up
I really hope it was just a pump failure or something like that that killed all those fish. I really hope they do the tournament again. Like you said not a lot of tournaments on Folsom and I for one wish we had more events. Let's hope Vince and the guys learn from this and have something in place to prevent it in the future and have lots more events on Folsom. Thanks for the video Austin, you da man!!
Ya it was definitely sad to see, I made a separate reply as to what my dumb theory is since I was there watching this weigh in but I don't know, it's just an opinion. I regret big time not fishing this event...the Tuesday before this tourney I came in with 13.1lbs for my best 5 and the Tuesday after this event I came in with 12.5lbs which would have put me in the top 10 either of those days. Both trips I was on the same pattern, in the same area and both trips I had bass over 5lbs hit my bait that I just wasn't ready for and missed. We missed an opportunity for sure. :( Oh and I know they were over 5 or around there because I watched them hit my bait both times, 1 of them right at my boat about 2 feet in front of my trolling motor.
@@proambass8027 I feel ya man we should of been out there fishing. Hopefully they will be back next year. I wish someone would set up a monthly Folsom tournament somehow. That would be awesome!!
@@SeeLifeBro There used to be a local club that would fish Folsom and Oroville only and alternate lakes each month. I don’t remember what that club was called but that was probably 15 years ago.
@@SeeLifeBro LoL, I know they do like New Years and I think Black Friday Turkey Shoots/Opens out there. There always at times I can’t go. There’s El Dorado Bass club but they go all over too but not sure if they do Folsom either. People really don’t like Folsom lol.
It’s part of the sport. Fish mortality will occur. It’s only one of the variables in destroying a lake when you take account all of the other factors that negatively impact the sustainability of a fishery. Sadly, CA mismanaged all if it’s resources… keep up the good work!
There should be a dedicated person monitoring the holding tank activity for all of these or any issues going on with those fish. Or like you said,. Half way they should do a complete release and fresh water for sure. Damn it!!! I hate when fish die. I mean, let's face it!! Without these fish we have no sport. The fish should always be our top priority.
This is the tournament that killed all the fish after they were weighed in at Walmart and brought back to the lake… Lots of fish on all of the ramps floating upside down
