In this video I'm going to show you how to play the iconic intro as well as the chords and the solo to the Johnny Cash classic " Folsom Prison Blues" Written in 1953 and recorded in 1955, this song combined two themes from popular American folk music, the " Train " song and the " Prison" song.

Luther Perkins was once asked why he played simple leads when a lot of others were playing "flashy" stuff. He thought for a second and said: "They're looking for it. I found it.". I love that. He was perfect for Johnny Cash.

Take it slow. Work at it a little each day. Check out some other finger and strum exercises to try as well! ☺️
