11:20 My man, Soundtrack 8 is everything. Period. It's so perfect, so different from the others, melancholic and sad, it's the reason I searched the Fontaine underwater ost.
I think what makes it more special is that it has the same musical motif than Vourukasha's Oasis, which is where the previous hydro archon body resides, so it connects both the waters of Fontaine with their old archon
6:27 is by far my favorite. It sounds so heavenly and ethereal, but it also sounds so sad... I get vibes of joy of the sea, and its beauty, but then almost like as if its a dream, and it was never really there to begin with. I don't know, its hard to describe, but this song literally almost always makes me start crying. Its really incredible.
@@lsaacthecraftsman I've seen people shitting on Fontaine's OST now that they know Yu Peng Chen wasn't involved in it. Calling it trash or saying they knew it wasn't him because it doesn't have the "Genshin feeling" that he brought lol
ppl didnt even know the different quality of Fontains OST until mr. Yu announced he wasnt involved in it. thn suddenly ppl become music master ans shitting current ost, i mean...just enjoy the game and everyting will feel so great
It's true in a way, that the ones he didn't compose and directed, doesn't have his signature style, which many people associate as the "Genshin Style", so I understand. But the music is definitely left with a good team, despite it being a bit different. @@kieran1129
@@charibertthewhimsicalking88 Alhaitham probably wouldn’t hear this playing anyway since he’s blasting whatever he’s listening to in his noise-cancelling earphones from his homemade iPod lmao
@@hariyanuar8222not in any particular order but I do like Inazuma's broody and melancholic themes. Fontaine shot up on my personal list because I like classical/Jazz music.
03:30 Everytime I hear the first notes while swimming I just find a safe spot away from enemies and chill. It's beautiful, laced with a twinge of melancholy but ends with hope
This soundtrack sounds alot like the one in the Vourukasha oasis, after you completed the world quest ofc, I mean the previous Hydro Archon died there so it's understandable if it's similar
Everyone in the comment section has a different timestamp on the soundtrack they like, it really shows that all the soundtracks from fontaine's underwater world is that captivating and captures what it is; the feeling of the sense of adventure yet enjoying the ethereal tranquility. My personal favorite is soundtrack 1.
I dunno why but it somehow made me remember all the sad times for a minute but i they way it made me feel is like without those moments im not who i am today
The underwater soundtracks are so soothing 💙 9:51 is my favorite, it gives me that odd feeling of smiling through tears, when you remember all the good times you had with your lost family members
It also has the vibe of a song you'd hear on Undertale too! This is my fav underwater theme so far and I can't wait to get the spincrystal soon for my tp!
This whole underwater fontaine soundtrack just reminded me so much of an anime with underwater/under the sea setting called Nagi no Asukara (a lull in the sea). My love for that show is maybe why I'm also so in love with Fontaine's underwater soundtracks. The last track reminds me so much of that anime especially at 18:50 it was incredible.
Seriously this is my favourite out of them all. It feels so calming, so surreal, so magical. Combined that with stunning underwater view of Fontaine 😭 this game is my escape from this ugly world
One thing I've noticed in other medias, underwater or any sea related music has always have this sound of serenity, tranquility in music. The echoing sound of instruments and vocals is just very pleasant to hear. I really wanna research on the history of this kind of music but idk where to start, if any of you musically learned individuals know pls kindly tell me on where this kind of composition started cause i don't know where to start 😅. That aside, fontaine has been a blast and the music is the best thing I've experienced in this region. We just had a news that Yu-peng chen was not involved in this region as he was leaving hoyomix, but I'm happy to know that the team can handle their own without him. All of fontaine soundtracks have been amazing.
Ever since I heard it, I have been obsessed with Soundtrack 8. 11:20 It is haunting, melancholic and tragic, the perfect combination and a reminder of one the reasons why I love this game so much 🩷
There’s truly something beautiful about track 3. Something that just takes me back to my childhood, playing mobile games to escape this reality. Just sitting down, and being at ease.
I've been in love with soundtrack 8 (11:21) since the first time I heard it. It makes me feel at peace, but at the same time, it makes me so nostalgic for a time of my life I don't even remember. It's so beautiful, simple, and perfect.
9:51 is one of my favourites. Especially with the way the piano fades out... it just sounds like something that would play during a flashback sequence, remembering happy memories, but then you're brought back to the present. I haven't finished the Archon Quest yet but I'm going to assume this might relate to the lore of Fontaine
Everybody's picking their favorites, but man, I can't pick. What a perfect sonic representation of emotional concentrate, like the strongest and purest of feelings converging in the Fountain of Lucine and cathartically flowing back out across the world.
Everyone has a favorite and I think that shows just how good these all are. Probably one of my fav OSTs so far it’s so peaceful and makes you wish you were there underwater enjoying the scenery in person.
The voice are soothing and the music is beautiful, I could stay here all day long, forget about land One Archon quest later Wait, Have I been. . . swimming through the missing people this entire time ?
this is where you just flatly lying on the seafloor while admiring the underwater ecosystem and the refraction of light on the ocean surface and then these tracks plays on you as a lullaby to put you to sleep. that's the feeling i get whenever i hear this ost
6:27 is my favorite on the list. It reminds me of Maiden of Sanctity OST in Sumeru. So peaceful and sad at the same time. HYV just doesnt miss on their music
No one talks about 12:40 (soundtrack 9) and I find it the most submersive and inspiring :( Just the feel of the vast Ocean surrounding the whole of you while that song is sounding, wow.
shade of flowers got me here, the piece feels like someone i used to know and is now just a piece of memory or the person i used to be and that im not happy with what i am today but the music also feels like tomorrow will be better and that i dont have to stop trying, i just need to take a lil rest to earn enough energy to try again tomorrow, and i love that, thank you hoyo-mix team for the wonderful music.
Ahhhhh I love soundtrack 1, every time I hear it, I think of the cute underwater critters happily swimming about, especially Berrypuff since this song played almost every time I visited him lol. (Also thanks so much for this video + the timestamps!)
Soundtrack 5 and 8 are my favorites. The first connects so well with the end of the Vourukasha's quest in Sumeru with the same soft female vocals from when you ressurrect the tree (if you know you know), and 8 is just beautiful.
Soundtrack 2 (1:46) was the one that was playing when I found an absolutely stunning setpiece, and that combination gave me such a sense of wonder, like I was playing the game for the first time again. Nothing will ever top it in my mind.
I love the theme at 03:30. It's somehow nostalgic, but sad. Like a sad smile. The sound of a home you can never return to, or a home you know is doomed to perish, yet beautiful all the same.
Following the torrent and Passage of an Era are the big reason why I started enjoying exploring again with this region Man, living my mermaid dreams with kokomi with this ethereal music
Soundtrack 7 is the most underwater world experience in my opinion and its soo cute and kinda depressing the same time🤧 also gives vibes of ori and the will of the wisps main theme
sountrack 11 its just amazing it puts me at peace and makes me feel like i am a princess or living a dream flying idkkk its just super dreamy and the instruments are just chief kiss
Everytime they have consistently put out jaw dropping music for each region fitting the cultural theme. I can't pick one over the other from my favourites.
Just casually exploring the underwater areas for the first time and then 3:30 comes on; the feeling was so surreal and I just has to stay idle to appreciate it. Damn hoyo-mix does not miss
8:09 is my fav one...when i listen to it it makes me nostalgic and a bit emotional...idk why, I always have a little tears in my eye when I listen to it.
Oh my gosh I did actually tear up a little the first time I paid attention to the under water music X'D and saw the seal dudes and otters for the first time. So much cuteness and serenity
First time I heard track 7 is on a small room underwater that has gramophone and when you play it you got achievement "These are a few of my favorite things", then the piano at the end of the track playing and the reference couldn't be more obvious (to those who didn't get it, the piano part is similar to the piano intro of My Favorite Things)
OHHHH thank goodness I finally found that 3:30 soundtrack, that guitar riff (is that what they're called?) somewhat gives me 2000-2010's anime nostalgia
Just picked up this game not too long ago and unlocked Fontaine. 3:30 played and it was so relaxing and soothing. I love open world games and never thought I'd find this game this fun, nor did I think the SOUNDTRACK was gonna be this fire. Currently getting my Yelan and crew to level 70 :D
17:33 soundtrack 12 feels so weird, sounds upbeat and happy with the person singing but the background feels weird, it gives me a feeling of what drowning would be like
