What a song, what a band, what a drum riff, unassuming but massive complexity and talent. fooooooooook they are good....this is glasto headline stuff...
Met these guys outside Glasgow Barrowlands a few years ago, just before they went on- such nice lads who couldn’t have been cooler. Seeing them getting bigger and bigger is amazing. What a band
All those mixes are bad on RU-vid :( I don't know who is doing that, but its really shit for most of the artists who playing on Glastonbury. Even if they played good, its sounds bad on RU-vid
I hope they get to play argentina some time soon... It would be so sick to see the Irish Lads down here... Love how they have evolved through all their albums, cant wait for August.
So good, so good, best band I've seen live in recent years. Last time I had this feeling it was for arctic monkeys in 2007. Future is bright Fontaines DC 🙌
I noticed the inhale sound in the chorus is pretty harsh on the throat while covering this song - probably the reason Grian doesn't do it himself during long sets Edit: if someone's interested.. I tried my hand on an acoustic version of Starburster (on my channel)
It’s all about placement of the breath for texture. I’ve been learning this song recently and I’ve found a way that’s not stressing on the voice, and I’m assuming Grian has as well. Him not doing it live is probably a artistic choice to bring the band in on vocals
I saw the vid for this a few months ago an it was a great jam .. these dudes are pretty cool don't know anything else about them but I'm gonna judge them on this one song an give them a ...there cool .
i think theyre still figuring out how to play their new album live, this is miles better than their first live performance of starburster but still not all the way there
I was really looking forward to their performance of Starburster at Glastonbury, but the energy was quite flat! They were just phenomenal on Jools and Jimmy Fallon, still love them but just seemed a bit off :(
Same with I Love you, I was looking so much forward to that. But the extra guitar guy destroyed that full song with his acoustic guitar. 2022 was much better
@aarondoyle96 100% this. If you look at their European tour schedule, they played 12 shows in 16 days between the 12th and 28th of June finishing at Glastonbury. Anyone would be drained.
@@gavomcg Around when A Hero's Death got released they spoke in a lot of interviews about how the schedule would take a huge toll on them. Now here we are theyve only just finished touring Skinty Fia, new album already canned ready to go. They need a good break now before they tour Romance.
This year I could have seen Fontaines DC and Idles live...probably I preferred Idles in concert, but I'm pretty sure that Romance will be the best 2024 album.
I think it’s probably the way it comes across on streams/RU-vid, few of my mates went and said it was incredible live and didn’t sound like this at all
@@mmnbh7514 maybe because their big moment is getting overshadowed by idles on the other stage and broadcast live on the telly, so all the energy is elsewhere. dunno for sure though, only seen this one track from their set so far
