Great info so I am watching 2nd time and taking notes, I would like to know what you did to tortilla so after mailing 3 weeks in advance it still stay fresh? Any information is greatly appreciated.
No issues with the tortillas after shipping. They are shelf stable and I left everything in the original packaging for shipping. Everything turned out great on trail! Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
I have difficulty planning meals one day ahead! I couldn't imagine planning something of this scope. Cranberry and Habanero is an interesting combination
Yeah, it was certainly an an undertaking but manageable once it gets broken down into pieces. After being out though...the cran habanero has turned out to be a distant 3rd place to the other flavors.
Great video! Very helpful for planning. How did your resupply plan work out - anything you’d do differently? Planning a September nobo trek. Thanks for all the time you’ve put into your JMT videos!
Shockingly, as many things that COULD'VE gone wrong, our resupply shipments were smooth as silk. My only real issue was fitting the shipment from MTR to Onion Valley in my bear can. I had to get creative on food storage the first day until I had a meal or 2. Don't know what I could change though because I was 100% out of food when we got to Onion Valley...I guess learn to eat less? Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!
When it comes to hiking and kayaking, I could never choose one over the other. They both fill different parts of my soul. As far as the vacuum bags, I used these rolls and cut the bags to size (amzn.to/3jGDbRr). Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
What size bear canister is that? I am afraid mine is too small, and I bought the large. (Girl like to eat) also, do you know if I must carry the locking bear canister or can I bring just a bear bag? Hope you had a great trip!
I love to eat too!! 😂😎 The canister is BV500 and the JMT requires a bear can for the whole stretch. If you can get past the weight, I have grown to appreciate the canister vs the bag. Makes some things a little simpler without having to worry about hanging food. Thanks for watching!
