Thank you. my daughter who don't like travelling to Nigeria with me because of food. The last she visited was 2008 my Mum really want to see her again but she refused because she was really sick. the last time she visit but Seeing your video today she said she will go with me this Christmas because everything that is here is there and we live in Lagos which is great.thank you so much I really appreciate it 😃
I love this virtual shopping experience😍😍 Ebeano has literally everything you need. Only issue may be cost. I'm suprised Ebeano allowed you film. I remember being almost harassed for taking a picture of an item.
I actually think they are quite affordable...Mehn so many options to choose from ,sisi Yemmie am sure Ull need painkillers for your neck today...thanks for the tour😂
Excellent video, naturally, imported goods will cost more than local products. It's the price you pay for buying foreign. This also happens in other countries i have lived in : The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago e.t.c. The fact that some of these products are available in Nigeria, kudos to Ebeano!!!! When i am in a country, i always prefer their local products, it's cheaper and helps the local economy
Ebeano has always been my favorite place to shop but seems there’s a hike in their prices. The prices were doing my heart gish gish. Wahala for who no get money 😭
OMG 😆 I enjoyed every bit of this video from videography to soundtrack 🤩. Shopping is therapeutic for me 😄and I’m really excited about this new Ebeano branch , can we just take a sec to appreciate sisi yemmie for her dedication and consistency in giving us top notch contents like this 🥳🥰, sisi yemmie is amazing 🥰😍
You are right! We need to now start transitioning into manufacturing. This way we don't import so much. This will create jobs and keep the money within!
The supermarket is Nigerian owned and the owner wasn't forced to import oyinbo foods, he did that on his own volition and demands from customers. You have African stores that stock African foods abroad, in the UK, Tesco stock African food. I don't know about US. Supermarket is for Nigerians that want to stick to the brands they are used to abroad like you see from comment section. As for branded food produced in Nigeria for Nigerians, ShopRite stock all Nigerian food produce and they have branches all over Nigeria. It is a South African store but franchise in Nigeria. As for prices, $1=N450. This is the third supermarket SisiYemmy has featured on her channel this year. You can watch the videos if you haven't.
Overpriced imported items. The prices are 2-3 times more than we pay here in the UK. I'll jeje bring me own haul when visiting Naija. They should be using their platform to support Nigerian/African brands instead.
I would love to see more department stores retailing more Nigerian brands. There are a lot of lovely Nigerian brands that can comfortably compete with their int'l counterparts. 💛
This store’s setting looks like our Walmart here. And yes I enjoyed every bit of it. The choice of music is kinda therapeutic for me. Thanks for sharing ma’am.
You said exactly what I was 🤔 thinking. How did they get Kirkland brand there? Smh. I have to drive 45 mins to get to an international market to buy half the stuff we use to manage lol 😆
@@4cubed22 it's about demand and supply and not unfairness. If we didn't demand all these western brands here in Africa, our shelves wouldn't look like this. If we filled our own shelves with our own products, we would be in a better position when it comes to exports and seeing our branded products on western shelves
Love this video! Been punching my calculator, things are really expensive in Nija. I saw so many things and brands but they very pricey in Nija compared to here in the States.
There are more than enough branded food items that are made in Nigeria. I know cos I have been visiting for over 10yrs. This is their newest store. I visit the one close to where I live. SisiYemmy only focused on what she went to buy. I saw lots of Nigerian brands in the video.
Wow this is huge with variety of stuffs to choose from menh......sisiyemmie next time please show us more of the home essentials aisle......I'm addicted to house decor........
It is packed with so much abroad items, which is good, makes it easily accessible for you all in Naija. The person importing them is really chopping life because those prices chaii
This is lovely!please do more of it. I really enjoyed every bit of it. I've been to 5 different supermarkets here in Warri, and cldnt get Avocado nor olive oil.how much more keto products. I miss Lag.
This supermarket has to be the best for me. I have been to their branch at Chevron drive and I was awed at what they have to offer. It's unfortunate I live on the mainland and the only branch they have is at Ikeja. Will check this out sometime soon.
Similar with giant food stores here in the United States, some of the prices when converted is cheaper when the dollar amount is converted to naira, while some are similar in price though I will save money if I convert my dollar and shop in Nigeria and or this store.
Wow awesome video. I’m Canadian and I must say that I see some known brands in your video. Some items from the supermarket are a bit pricey, at least 2-3 times more expensive to what they sell them here in Canada
Unfortunately the imported goods will cost more than local products. It's the price you pay for buying imported, this happens in many countries i have lived in : The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, e.t.c. If you want foreign be prepared to pay 😁😁
One thing I love about ebeano is that, there are so many things you won’t find in regular supermarkets that they always have, so many imported goodies. One thing I don’t like about ebeano is that, when you go to buy 1 or 2 items next thing you get to the pay point and you have a full basket of goodies😭Also I have noticed that their prices across the branches are different o... VGC branch is the cheapest, then chevron, then admiralty, now I feel this new branch in lekki 1 will be the most expensive in this axis! Anyways I passed it yesterday, I love the building, so clean with ample parking space, I may just stop there next week Sunday and see for mysef😁
Well thank God that the poor cannot afford it because all that process mess only break your system down. Not even bacteria want it, so that mean that we all should stay away from it.
I was so worried 😂 I’ll be visiting and a few ppl want me to make some soul food dishes but I didn’t know if I’d be able to find the ingredients and this place looks perfect! Thank you for this video madam !
I don't think most of the commenters are considering that the owner of the supermarket has to pay for shipping, clearing, excise duties, transportation to his warehouse in Nja, rent this store, pay his staff etc. I once airfreighted my stuff to Nja, it is $4.00 per pound.
I love your shopping videos! Whatching from lockdown Denmark it is a way to see the world when I can`t go anywhwere (except to work or to my local supermarket) :)
Wow it seems as if am watching one of our Tesco super market here in the United Kingdom, what a huge super market and so classic. Am new here but have found you got great contents and happy to be a member in this house 🥰
Lovely seeing the new Ebeano! Beautiful Store Layout. Ebeano making us proud since the early 2000s. Hehehehehe... Happy for how far they've come.🙌🏾🇳🇬 Well done Sisi Yemmie. Your video as usual is super inspiring! 👍🏾👏🏾
Nice ambience. The prices are triple or more than usual. Its good to note that heavy importation with little to no exports devalues the local currency. With all these imported goods, how does Nigerian supermarkets plan to grow the value of the Naira?
Nice its a mini Walmart, but very expensive, looking at the prices and comparing, it cost more in naira than dollars Sis , the corn beef was 1400 Naira , that's 3.67 in dollars, so it's it much higher compare in naira to the dollar but I love Nigeria ,don't care people say plan to relocate in a few months by God's Grace , we gotta go shopping together lol. love this.
Totally loved the vlog... I recognise so many products there, it felt like I was in one of our Chinese supermarkets here in SA.. this will make it easy for me to buy familiar products there. Though the prices are a tad bit more expensive than we buy them this side. Hope it won't affect locals alot since it's promoting imports rather than Nigerian manufactured supplies
Thank you for posting sisi the prices are quite high but i think one should also consider the cost of importing the products staff salaries cost of premises. So much will be included. Not sure who would be able to shop there but its really exciting to know that when my family are visiting we have a place to pick things up.The only problem i would have though is comparing the price to that of my local Tesco or morrisons. I would most probably wait until I return to London 😁 but thank you such an interesting video
I really like these videos. I did the exchange for some of the items to Canadian. By the way,. The Barilla pasta is anywhere from 360 to 700 naira in Canada.
This looks big af!! I like that the products in abroad can be accessible to Nigerians but omo the owner of this store is cashing out because the price difference 😩
I absolutely love these kind of videos. See me already planning my trip from Ikorodu to Lekki 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂. Thank you so so much for these enlightening videos. ♥️♥️
The store is indeed full of foreign goods... I know Nigerians patronize locally made products...hope their efforts to blend the two will work very well...
Exactly what I am thinking!! Local food will make their prices more affordable. But I guess with the location of the store, most people in this area might rather buy foreign products.
Sorry guys, this store is over a decade, I have been visiting for like 10yrs. They have branches everywhere in Lagos. This is just the newest store, actually this branch is over two years. As for local brands, you guys didn't see them, but we Nigerians saw them in the video. Ebeano stock more of foreign goods compared to other chain stores like ShopRite and Blenco. Many Nigerians stick to their local market while people that like a mix of both visit chain stores.
Sisi Yemmie this is so much like abroad store even better. Please 🙏 next time let's see price tags on kitchen electronics. Btw things don cost for Nija o!
Nice store👍Thanks for sharing☺️I bought some orzo pasta about the same size as that one last week for $1.28 in the U.S, which I believe is about N500(five hundred Naira). So it is a bit more expensive over there but that may also be determined by the economy of scale.
Naija and high price for anything that's foreign... see those prices, common spaghetti pass 1k dey where I no know. Realising how cheap food is here lol
Same here I love shopping it's therapeutic I don't necessarily have to buy anything just going from shop to shop makes me feel so good menh I've missed shopping so much maybe that's why I'm depressed 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 maybe I'll drag my sister with me on my off day.....Costco, bjs and target here I come.
I'm not sure why it's that way to be honest. It doesn't make sense for them to be paying more for a low quality product unless shipping costs are to blame.
Mehn!!!! The prices considering the standard of living....it’s way too much even when you change it to dollar....woohoo!!!!. And also I think there’s more of American products than UK.
Thanks sis this is Really good to see n know I usually buy these things from here when I go to naija is good to compare prices and see if I'm better of buying from the UK or Nigeria God bless u.
Wow this is really massive...so behave Tesco in Nigeria now! this is really interesting and amazing...Tesco is one of my favourites shops in UK. Wow good for us.
