Jeni, how much of the chicken bouillon powder are you putting into your quart jars? My goal for this winter is to clean up my sewing/craft room as it has become a junk room and overall whatever room. I am even storing my potatoes from the garden on the floor in flat boxes, or I should say I was until I discovered my dog was eating them in the middle of the night, so I moved them up to my crafting table. Needless to say, there isn't much room for crafting currently, but I am desperate to change that. I am not sure where I am going to move my crafting because my husband is moving our pantry into my craft room (it is just off the kitchen) as we just had to throw away some of our canned items in the basement due to humidity this past summer. It is a God-awful sight what a damp basement can do to your beautiful canned products. Please Lord, I need a bigger house.! I just thought I would give you a really good tip, watch "The Kneady Homesteader's" video on how to make your own brown sugar with molasses & pure cane sugar, it has saved me so much money. Brown sugar is something we use a lot here so anytime I can save a little bit I do. Fantastic video, I learned so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Blessings to you always. ~SuzyJC-in-Pataskala, Ohio/USA_10.25.2021~

Jeni, I used Pur canning jars for the first time this past Thursday. They were 1/2 pints. I filled them with fresh asparagus. Pressure canned them. They sealed just fine. I opened one today, Saturday. Much to my dismay, there were black spots underneath the lid. It's not mold, but appears to be on the white coating. I'd like to email a photo, perhaps you have a POC, at Pur.

Did I miss hear you at the end of the video, you pointed to a bag you said you'd just taken from the freezer, and you weren't going to give it time to fully return to room temperature? Aren't you concerned about condensation building inside your bucket as the frozen contents returns to room temperature. That can cause it to grow mold and mildew, ruining what you've stored.
