Personally I believe it’s this mixed with us all previously having knowledge that it’s supposed to be mix, and therefor that it’s strange to be monochrome. If it was any other candy out there that comes in one color, it wishing face the same Issues. Then again, I’m not a fan of multicolored foods in the first place.
