Just got my box yesterday from kickstarter. Opened and sleeved every single card that same night. I love it so much. Every card feels good and smooth in the hands. All of them have a good amount of detail and weight to them. I’m so glad I helped fund this ridiculously fun game! Thank you so much
I love this game. It is nothing like I have ever played before and I don’t think there will ever be a thing like it. I have always been interested in things like dnd but haven’t had the patience or friends to do it with. I feel this is a much simpler version of classic table top board games while still being a fun experience. It’s clear you put a lot of effort into this and I can’t thank you enough for that. Great job
I've just received mine but have yet to play it. It seems in a very similar vein to my current favourite 'The Binding of Issac and the Four Souls'. I imagine this to be just as addictive once I get into it
It's an amazing game. The whole thing feels like Munchkin but somehow updated. Faster, less bad feels and more chaotic highs. Great game all around, wish I had the money for the expansion during the KS but will prioritize picking it up now!
Finally still have to wait quit a bit (I live in France) and i haven't received the mail yet. But this seems really promising. I really hope you will keep making videos about your game and not let it die.
The rulebook left me with a lot of questions that this video do not answer either. The rules clarification on the website perfectly answers all of them, but I can’t help but wish they were included in the booklet. I understand wanting to make the rules short and sweet, but it is missing some core gameplay concepts. Can’t wait for my first game tonight with the boys, I’m sure we’re gonna have a blast!
Love my Heroic edition, I purchased everything from the kickstarter. So glad I came across this game. I’m soo hyped to get on the table. Everything, cards, box, etc feel premium. Well done sir for going all out making sure it was top tier.
Gameplay questions: Can I have more than one sword and choose which one I will use for a day's adventure? Or do I only get to have 1 one-of-a-kind sword at a time? Can I choose to purposely forfeit a monster combat? Or am I always forced to choose the maximal strength of my outfit and have my character try to win? Can I ever purposefully throw my cards into a trash pile (to prevent somebody from stealing it)? Or can I only do that if an effect instructs me to? Do curse timers tick down at the *end* of turn? Or the *start* of turn? (Will that distinction ever matter?) Do they tick down only on your turns? Or everybody's turns? Do these timers reset if the curse is transfered to another player?
YOU MADE ONE OF THE COOLEST BOARD GAME BOXES I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!! More Board Games Should Make Expansion Boxes with Dope Designs like This ONE!!!!!!!!!
JUST GOT MINE YESTERDAY! The cards are so well made- I kickstarted a differebt game months ago and was disapointed but Circle Toons you went all out!!! Love this and playing today!
I have the same fear, I'm very careful with my stuff. I have a friend that likes to do that poker shuffle. I already set boundaries tho haha. Fortunately the people il be playing with are adults. So it should be ok
I’m still waiting for my copy of Fool’s Blade 😢. I bought this and the expansion immediately because this game looked incredible. Glad to see the Fools Blade content as I patiently await my copy 😃 Update: got my copy and expansion of Fool’s Blade. Patiently waiting to gather my friends and play this gem of a game 😎🔥
Got mine yesterday and just played it for the first time and I have a few questions that I just could not seem to figure out from the rule book: 1. How does changing out the weapon work during the second phase (if this is even a thing I can do on my turn)? Do the cards that made up my sword get added back to my hand or do they go in the discard pile of the forge? 2. The placing unused forge cards on top of the deck felt slow and since we got to see the cards and they were parts no one playing wanted, we weren't too inclined to go back there unless forced. Just wondering if I'm missing something there. 3. For the 3 part boss, did we need to beat all three in one go or did we need to only go for one of them at a time? We did the latter as that seemed the most fair but there wasn't a ruling we could find. Bonus question: what's the purpose of the hidden compartment? I thought maybe storing cards in there but it was too small to stand them up but too much space if they were lying down. Other than that, fantastic game and I'm looking forward to playing more of it!
this is no way offical but heres my take, for 1 it goes back into your hand, if you watch the play through vod they take back the parts into their hands. 2, we had that same issue when playing for 2 player, so me and my friend decided to put it on the bottom, but homebrewing your own rules can work too. i think this rule is to help game progression in games with more players. 3. each boss has its own rule, but i think you are right where you can defeat them one by one. some boss gets bouns effects if the other part dies first, so that must be right. Im not sure what it is actually for but i use it as a dice storage and dices rolling box. Hope this give you some ideas on what to do.
@@eddietian5671 scanning the QR code takes you to some additional rules and you are right on 1 and 3. I did play this with 4 people and it still felt pretty slow, but I think we just had a bad shuffle and were stuck with all the guard cards at the top of the deck. I might try sticking them at the bottom, but my concern is that if a player is looking for a specific part and the person before them draws that part, suddenly it becomes unreachable. I might stick with putting it at the top and adding a house rule that before you draw from there, you have the option to shuffle the deck.
@CasualDeer thanks for that information on the QR code, I'll go check it out too, I'm finding some of the effect while ok in more player game, it doesn't feel as good when playing with 2 player so I'm trying to homebrew some thing atm
Played it a few times and it's great! Definitely used the rule clarification page from your website, but I didn't see anything about how gear breaking ability, like the coffee card, interacts with the gear card that makes it so your other gear can't be destroyed. Does this make coffee useless because you can't break it? Does this make coffee usable an infinite amount of times until the protective gear card is destroyed? Something else? Is there any difference between breaking and destroying? The glossary on the back doesn't expand on 'breaking' at all. Niche case, but I'm curious what people think! Or even Christian himself if he sees this
Just played the game for the first time today. Was a lot of fun! Hoping someone can provide confirmation for some rules: 1. When swapping parts in a weapon, do the previous parts get discarded or go back to your hand? 2. When using weapon parts, like the Gambler Blade Pommel, can you change the strength of monsters your opponents fight? 3. Which curse cards are considered as in your 'gear setup'?
It’s been a while but I can’t wait to finally get my copy I’ve been checking the kickstarter every couple weeks or so and saw that’s it’s finally starting to arrive at peoples houses
The game looks super fun and well made! But I live in the EU and the shipping is too expensive (more expensive than the game itself). It's unfortunate but I imagine that there isn't much that can be done about it
Two questions 1. What if you have 1 water power and are fighting a water monster? Is it treated as 1 or 0? 2. If you start the game during setup by drawing a curse card does it apply to you immediately?
YOOO DIDNT EXPECT ANIMATIONS ON THE SECOND CHANNEL HELL YEAH!! is it by the same folks or did circle make it?? anyways cant wait for mine to arrive any day now
Fool's Blade Gameplay Question: Is there a limit to the Gear or Gear Types one can have equipped in their Gear Setup? Source: Just played our first game (loved it), but I ended up having 3 different types of gloves equipped (Glue Gloves, Power Gloves, Juggling Gloves). It felt weird to gain the benefits of all three, but there's no mention in the instructions of a Gear limit. So, what's the verdict? Additionally, is it 2-4 players? There's no player limit in the instructions either, and the game feels like it could probably accommodate 6 with its deck size and variety.
I also have a question about the rules that I can’t find in this video or the rule book, when you modify a weapon during the assembly phase, what do you do with the part you replace? Do you put it in your hand or do you discard it in its respective discard pile?
We played tonight! Overall very enjoyable. Need some clarity on whether or not Trash piles should be face down or up. The wording on some cards make it seem like face down would make the most sense but there isn't clarification.
Were you planning on making an official version for table top sim? Me and my buddies got the preorder but they have to go back to school and we would like to play on table top since we are states apart. Just wondering
Wait so in the tavern phase do all players draw a tavern card or just the player who's turn it is? And during assembly can you put equipped weapon parts back into your hand?
We're a little confused with fights that have Base Attack + Skull or loot. We kind of just decided to go if it has a skull be it then the attack increases by which area the monster is from and if it's loot then it's increasing it's attack by the amount of loot it's worth.
Is there any sort of priority system for when tavern can be played during the tavern phase and action cards during combat? Or is it just a free for all where the person with the quickest hand wins?
Looks like I vastly improved Munchkin. And while I totally hate Munchkin both as a game and as a poor design concept, I would totally check this out because it seems to be constructed in a way that would mitigate a lot of Munchkin's flaws. Well done! 👍
Quick question that the damage diagram doesn't mention, if a fire weapon is used on a fire enemy, is it also canceled out or would it be regular damage? Like with the example weapon with 4 neutral and 2 fire, would it do 4 or 6 damage to fire enemy?
The cards look so good, the box has a clever design( too clever for me, I got everything during the kickstarter and all of it fits in the blade accept the mat, which doesn't fit in the guard which I don't know what it's for) the cards feel thick and high quality, the sleeves add some nice details without covering any art on the cards, I'm so looking forward to playing this with people. Seriously though, can someone help me with the box and mat
Just got this, very excited. But would it be possible to have a single player rule set? Ill experiment to see if I can find a cool set of rules for this idea. I have little friends :(

This game is awesome the only thing i wish it had is a final boss. The current system feels like playing a beat them up without a final boss and saying my score is bigger so i win. Final boss for co-op or single victory a coliseum/arena for pvp, anything would be better than, and then you win.
Question. Do you have to assemble your sword, handle, gaurd, blade, or cab you have a pomel, Handel, blade, and no gaurd, or be missing one of the 4 pieces?
from the two playthrough with the creator i can find, you can assemble the weapon in any order, so you can make a weapon with only blade and pommel if you want to.
