Foolproof Strawberry Jam | With note of vanilla

▶Strawberry Jam (with vanilla)◀
⊙Strawberry Jam⊙
Frozen Strawberries 200g
Sugar 60g
Lemon Juice 2g
(option) Vanilla Pod: 1/4 of a pod (feel free to adjust the amount. There’s not rule for this)
① Dice the strawberries into smaller pieces (or blend it. Don’t blend it smooth though)
② Add everything into a saucepan and reduce until it passes the cold water test.
⊙How to sterilize jars⊙
Wash the jar in running water and then place it in a saucepan filled with water. Bring the water to a boil and simmer for 10mins. Remove the jars and let it dry.
How to store: Store in the fridge for 10 days.

Today, I combined blackberry and strawberry to make a jam. Thats because we always have left overs afterwhich is forgotten in the fridge. I dont have a vanilla pod but used sucre vanillin instead and just added its weight on the sugar required. It came out so well. The light vanilla hint makes the jam taste fresh somehow. I will try to use vanilla pods next time coz I know it willl be awesome. Its my first time making a jam and with vanilla coz I'm buying using Sarabeths and Bonne Maman- but then the vanilla really made the difference 🥰😍👏👍 Thanks Hanbit! 👏👍💜

This works very well for strawberries. Be careful when applying this to other sweet but varying acidic/pectin level berries. Strawberries need added acid and sugar to correctly scaffold the pectin network strawberries contain. Certain berries have more natural pectin thus reducing the need for added acid to the jam. But if you use this amount of sugar, that jam would likely be overly sweet. I think if you are armed with this knowledge, you can take any berry and make the perfect consistency jam without it being over sweetened or acidic. Also that water trick is genius. I have been using frozen spoons but I only have so many spoons.

You make it so easy to make strawberry jam. The test method to check the thickness in the water is really great idea. And I never thought to put vanilla bean in the strawberry jam. Excelent video! Just one question... Is there any diference if I pour the jam in the jar when it's cold or hot? Usually I pour it being hot, and turn the jar upside down until it gets cold. Thank you.

you know exactly what to do - the method you're using is the best method but it's a bit difficult (well difficult compared to just pouring it in when the jar is cold) so i didn't introduce it in my video.
