Great, great performance, Kuwanoman--you STUCK it. I really like the back-up musicians and the musical arrangement. I really do regret that Stars and Rats and GospeRats broke up.
I had to watch this a couple of times to understand the idea behind the group, but given that the Japanese idolized the wrestler known as the Sheik, this band absloutely gets it...i hpoe they have a large following....
They used to call themselves, "The Chanels", and they started back in 1974 as Doo W group for copying The Temptations, or Cadillacs. They made their major debut in 1980 with their original songs called "Runaway", which made #1 on Japanese chart. They have also played at Whiskey a go go in LA back in 1981!Such great, talented, and entertaining Doo Wop band from Japan.
Love their accents on American music. Fun!! Group performs with much muscle confidence. Same individual routine but with their own individual style. Do they come to USA? Or do you have to go to Japan to see them?
This is a special session by Gosperers (4 men at left) and Mr.Kuwano(has trumpet) from Rats and Star as ex. Shanels. Actually they never sing with their face in black for blame as racism...
ok.... i'm a fan of Japan...... but a as a black man..... i don't even..... i mean. Really? you would think the rest of the world would go, "WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! JAPAN YOU CAN'T BE DOING THIS"... I mean really.
The Chanels, they put black fundations on their face to look black, but hey, don't take it as racist way, they truly respect black music especially Doo wops. And you know how Japanese are, they want to make it look "perfect", or "Paafekuto", or "Kanpeki" even to perform the music thats from outside Japan.Just sit back and see wat it is, and enjoy their songs if you like their "Doo wop".
joyouslife4all Thanks a lot for explaining in English for English speakers! They didn’t mean to making fun of Black people, they deeply respect and effect by black music. Japanese culture is a bit different from western thinking.
