I live in KC and I thought I had some skills on the foosball table because I could beat all of my buddies. Went to a local bar for an in house tourney one night (Joe Rhodes local spot). I was freaking blown away at the ball handling skills these guys have. All great guys, very welcoming. But in three appearances I've scored one goal and I feel like it was by accident.
FYI. The forward on the left, Gummeson, and probably his goalie too, McMillin were putting quarters on the tables back in the 1970s. 40+ years of foosing.
Good memories! My friends and I played in the '70s when foosball was in it's heyday here in the USA. After school we would walk over to the arcade and play for hours, until we either ran out of money or our parents came to drag us out. Most arcades/game rooms had the Dynamo tables with the rough surface and cork balls, although the Tornado tables were also popular with their slick surface and rock-hard balls - probably took more skill to master them; I never could get used to them. I bought a Dynamo table around 1980 and had a good source for parts. Had several years of fun with it before I sold it for more $ than I paid for it, including lots of spare parts. Good times!
It’s been many years since I’ve played. My table is down stairs covered. I’ve been thinking about playing bringing me to these videos. I found people playing 2 hours from me. I will drive down some weekend... my 5 man is awesome but I’m not consistent on my 3 man.. I’m excited to get back into it
Ya can't buy a defense like that! Supreme work brother, very nice :) I learn with every video you share. You'll have to teach me the grip you have on the 2 though ;)
Watched an old episode of the television show Community and the episode featured foosball! So as a joke I looked it up on RU-vid, and lo and behold they actually have a championship! Who'da thunk it! In all honesty I watched a couple of games and it was quite entertaining😂!
Shortly after I started playing foosball in 1972, I got fairly good at passing the ball from the 2-man to the goalie and then quickly whacking the hell out of it for a full-table-length goal. About a year later, had developed a pretty quick 3-man pull shot. Haven't played in well over 40 years now.....
Check out RU-vid channel Unreal Foos. One of the best pros, Ezekiel Cervantes, has tutorials for every shot, pass, and concept you need to get competitive.
i really pro at this game i beat my uncle 4 time and i defeat my cousin 2 time even my mom got defeat 2 times and then i want to go adventure to defeat all people that can play footbal table
I kept skipping forward cause I didn't realize the game actually started. The ball barely moves around with these guys. When I played this as a kid the ball would be smacked all over the place
This is not gitz. First. A real gits table does not have 3 players on the last Rod. Second. I was told you cannot pass(drag a ball side to side ....lastly you through the ball in. Not place it and pass(illegal)3 times
@@Tigerclawf I never played in a championship but I play against people in my community and I always win I went to a couple of schools and gyms and I’ve beaten people and I’ve not lost since 2011
Awesome... omg ..GO MINNESOTA- my old bestie and I ruled South Minneapolis for YEARS, I'm talking undefeated in nearly every hood: Longfellow, Sibley, Hiawatha, Bracket Park, Powderhorn .. I'd kill to hustle anyone willing to play right now on this pretty July 3rd evening..speaking of which it's my other best friends birthday today got to call her ..
Because they are slow as fuck. My and buddies have been going to this bar. I kid you not I broke the bars at least more then 20 times because we'd play like our life depended on it. Snake, crazy back shots from goalie and sound was ridiculous. People would literally get off of theirs seats just to come and watch us play. Man I miss it. I guess life happens.
Dave Gummeson has been playing longer than the snake has been around and the pull was the best shot in his era. Joe Rhodes dad shot a pull so I'm guessing that's why he does too. Joe can shoot a snake well but his main shot is the pull.
