and ruins many of them... Chip's a talented man, but he's always going one step too far (IMO) whether it's the style/removing all badges/chrome accents, etc., and his paint jobs many times SUCK!! NO HATE, I'd consider it an honor for Foose to do any of my cars, but many times I don't like his styling...the rest he's a genius/ frame off builds and such, can't top him.

Everyone says this keep it original But if you want to drive and enjoy it Then you make it modern. You can always bring it back to original. He never cut the car up..

Usually purging is used when doing stainless for the food industry for standards, for an exhaust system, you don't really "need" to have it done as the exhaust will just eject any loose debris anyways, so long as the tube is sealed. You will also want to do it to any welds before a catalytic converter too, just to help with the efficiency and longevity of the converter. When you're working on the induction system, it's a completely different game, as you want to ensure that there is nothing on the inside of the wall that will make its way into the engine. With Chip being Chip, he would want to make sure that the welds look as pretty on the inside as they do the outside, even though no one will see it. It's also why everything on the cars he builds have had time and attention given to it, even though it might never be seen again, as if it's not done to perfection, it shouldn't go on the car until it is.

@@MassageWithKlay Not purging will affect the integrity of the weld, and cause it to crack due to vibration. I’ve been doing this for thirty years, I should know.

@@lop8828 that's not bad considering it's Foose quality craftsmanship, a full build now is well over 100k. I prefer paying the 60k .

I agree with the displeasure. My advice would be to keep this one original and buy something different for long-distance cruising.

I share your sentiment here, this is a nice vehicle for sure and very usable but I could never change my 41 series 60 😅 just feels wrong lol

During my younger years the exhaust had to be loud and proud. Today all I care for is dead silence. How the worm has turned.

@@johnvandeven2188 I think a powerful Caddy should have a low rumble telling you it's there but not get in the way of the conversation. This sounded really good.

Not to mention the difficulty getting work like that done these days. Chroming may become a lost art.

Yeah, but it's nice to not have your ears hurt. I've had my share of cars that will rattle windows, and the exhaust note of my current car can be felt inside the house, but I added a muffler to tone it down for long trips. It doesn't smoke the tires from a 40mph roll as easily as it used to though, lol.
