Football isn't dumb, it's the people that play football. They take EVERYTHING SOOOO seriously. If they lose a round of football they just start blaming each other or saying that the match was unfair or even fight.. Like GET OVER IT, it's not the end of the world if you lose a round of football. And if a team wins a round they start jeering the other team that lost and start saying that they're better than them. That's why I don't play fooball. I'd just like to let you know, football isn't dumb or anything it's just the people that play it.

As an amateur anthropologist, I hope this answer will help: football teams and claiming you’re a part of their victories or losses are part of the culture of belonging. It’s kinda the same for the olympics. It’s sort of like the athlete competing is a representation of you and the country or city or wherever you’re from. So you feel represented, thus feeling like you’re a part of the athletes’ accomplishment It’s something on the lines of nationalism (if we’re talking about something as grand as the Fifa World Cup). Football culture is extremely powerful and can bring a nation together and rip it apart. I think the countries on Honduras and El Salvador in Central America had a war over football in the 60s. I'm from germany and I think the same way. I can't understand, why people are happy when their team wins and sad when it looses. If it wins, they get nothing and if it looses, they get nothing too. In fact it doesn't matter. I think watching soccer on TV is just a waste of time and watching soccer in a stadium is a waste of time and money. I once had a conversation with a psychologist on this topic and he said that many people compensate for the lack of success in their own lives. But that's the schizophrenic thing about it. If these people would use this time and money to get better at something, they would probably have more success in real life. But who am I, that I think about it, I'm wasting my time on RU-vid;)
