4:25 This. It's pure gatekeeping. I am fan of my local football team and have them watched in 3 different leagues up until that point. But, for example an Indian (like 6000 or more km away from me) dude that suddenly develops interest for my club... I'm neither more important nor any better than him. Imagine trying to feel better than other fans because you found it first lol
Saying this again - Football Iconic is one of the rarest channels that do not eat away your head with toxic content. You got be one of most well versed and humane narrators in RU-vid. No bullying, no over sentiments, pure verbal entertainment. Football fans should be more like you. Plus, you are a Manchester United fan. ✌ That adds more of my Likes for you. All the best and keep doing what you do here.
You are easily one of my favourite football channels ive ever watched, i thoroughly enjoy every video of yours ive watched. I think ive watched about 75-80% of your videos so far and each one brings me a little bit of joy, ive been watching you since you had around 60-70k subs and ive loved seeing you grow. Keep up the amazing work dude, i look forward to the future of your channel
I discovered your channel by mistake like a month ago when searching for a video about Francesco Totti and your video were on the reccomended ones. I gotta say I really fell in love with your content, your aproach and the way you mix humor and seriousness in your reviews of a players history or a clubs epic achievement, is wonderful, specially cuz I'm a 18 yo Portuguese who absolutely loves football and with your videos I get to know a lot about huge players that I didn't had the chance to see, you know, since I hasn't even born yet. 😅 I've already seen like 20 videos of yours and totally pretend to watch them all. Please keep up the good work and thank you once again Tinashe!!
With the Kane one, it is highly likely that he can win silverware now since Tottenham have spent a lot of money in the market and also hired Conte and Paratici
0:07 Funny story, once my econ professor brought up Man United to explain a type of financial situation to us and how it affected the club. I don't remember what it was, but he also mentioned not caring about it at the time because he was a City fan
I actually started watching your videos early on after they were recommended by the algorithm and I haven’t missed one since. Your takes on every are usually on point and the production quality is right up there, so to find out you actually live in SA 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🔥surprised me cause I always assumed you were in the UK. Keep up the amazing Tinashe👌🏽
As a person with Autism I read the full comment. And I got to say for someone that supposedly works with people with ASD every day. He/She is talking serious stereotypical BS. Not all ASD people are incredibly particular with rules, the same applies for collaboration with others. There's a reason it is called the spectrum. Just wanted to add my two cents, in case anybody needed a follow up.
Even if that wasn't the case, the comment would still make no sense. Being particular with rules is literally part of a referee's job and so is collaborating with others, which would make it a stupid job choice for people who can't do that.
@@Sirlordbob Yeah. Just because someone is autistic, that doesn't mean they can't achieve anything or do anything right. Well, I can't achieve anything or do anything right. But not because I'm autistic!
I interpreted the "support local team" one not as only support them, but more like a support your local team (like Portlaoise town for argument sake) but then also having your really big club like United or Liverpool etc. Maybe I'm getting it wrong here but I think it's more of a support grass roots along with your main club.
Love your videos brother. Would love to see more of those play by play commentary style you did for Santos vs Flamengo match. You could do some more matches like the Watford vs Leicester match or 7-1 match Another topic you could look into is drawing the comparisons between 18/19 Barca vs 21/22 Madrid squads. Both were quite similar, Ballon D'Or winning seasons from the 2 forwards carrying the team up front, and 2 solid goalkeepers in the back carrying the defense, along with a reliable Croatian midfielder in between. So what went wrong for Barca that season?
Some of these are really bad Tinashe 😅 I just dropped an episode where we tackled unpopular opinions in football. One of the boys was saying "Harry Maguire is world class, but he's just unlucky" 😳 Let me know what you think bro 👍🏾
Yo Azam! He definitely isn't world class, but I honestly think he'd do well at a lower table team that sits back. He's just not good enough for United unfortunately. As for being unlucky- there is probably some truth there. But if mistakes keep happening over and over again...
Yep, laliga is good, but what makes PL more success and more TV revenue is because PL care ant target their Asian market more. It was start when they switched their broadcast time to Asian prime time. Asia is the most populated and that means biggest potential to engage more fans. Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United (especially) have biggest fan base in Asian and it helps alot. Meanwhile La Liga mostly only about elclasico. Also losing the GOATs decrease La Liga engagement the most.
La Liga vs EPL ATM vs MCI last season 2nd leg, the ATM were very close to an equaliser, City did defend like a weaker club. When we qualified for the next level, Real Madrid literally managed to score 3 goals at Etihad (1st leg) and as Mahrez did score a goal in Spain (71st minutes Agg Real 3-5 City), with a maximum of 7 minutes to qualify for the finals, City conceded 2 goals from Rodrigo. I felt like 😭. Liverpool met Real at the finals and you knew that Real we're stronger even if Liverpool attacked regularly. 1-0 in favor of Real. The just recent Super Cup, Real Madrid was a sure bet. La Liga everytime. (City fan) I like your channel. Big up man. United is dead🤔
I agree I think the pl has a higher quality rn but la liga teams are really good in knockout competitions against english teams I think you meant Liverpool instead of Chelsea for your last point as well
Great content, level headed and an absolute joy to watch. -I agree with the Drogba take but Lewandowski is a Polish International not German. -KDB is a modern Gerrard in the midfield. No wonder coz he followed Liverpool from a young age. Watching Gerrard play was an unbelievable experience. Agree with Viera, the guy was a beast and underrated. Although players like Scholes, Pirlo, Alcantara are artists in a league of their own. They are incomplete but thats where their genius lies. And LAMPARD, OMG LAMPARD!
Had a feeling you were from Mzansi when I started watching your videos a while ago (back when you only did voice overs). Confirmed today. Keep up the good work
Another dope video from a dope creator🔥🔥🔥but I think the teams in the premier league might be better but I have no source of reference, haven’t watched any other league religiously
For the general public is concerned, Ability wise, I would say Messi is often overlooked.. The fact that a player won.. 6 UCL Top Scorer 6 Golden Boots Whilst winning 4 IFFHS Playmaker of the Year Awards and 7 Ballon d’Ors.. All the while easily, EASILY, being the Best Dribbler of all Time.. Is absolutely RIDICULOUS…Ludicrous in fact..
Here are my thoughts on this: 1) Arsenal refusing to criticize the DISGUSTING CCP for the genocide of Uyghurs is disgusting, more so that they supported other more marketable (and less painful financially) causes. 2) Ozil was a CAM that didn't defend anyone, a position that died as teams switched to 4-3-3 and CAMs like De Bruyne became CMs, Wingers like Mata, or retired like Ozil. 3) HIs frustrations regarding his treatment in Germany were legitimate. Also Germans saying he didn't embody their *democratic values* by supporting Erdogan is absolute comedy, Merkel was funding Erdogan for years, who in turn funded militant groups in the middle East to combat Russian interests in Syria. Basically Germany funded ISIS through Erdogan. Nice democratic values. 4) Madrid picking Modric over him was a great move after the dust has settled. 5) RIP Kaka's career, it ended too soon. 6) Arsenal post Wenger was a shitshow. 7) Imagine asking your players to take pay cuts when the owner has more money than he knows. If I was a player I'd tell them to take a hike and go ask Kroenke for money.
I don’t think there’s much of a debate concerning who’s better out of the La Liga teams outside the big three and premier league teams outside of the big six. Sevilla regularly dominate the Europa league and Villarreal won the Europa league and me the champions league semis. What have Brighton or West ham done on the European stage? Though I suppose there is a consideration that it’s easier to make it to Europe through La Liga than the premier league.
Been watching for a little while, this was funny man 😂 nice. It's cool that the videos are always changing/evolving slightly, watching your creativity is fun!
It's funny because here in Spain we HATE how it's handled LaLiga by the institutions, and were very envious of Premier League as a hole. That's because all the money goes to Barsa, Madrid, and in the last years Atlético, and basically all teams from the lower end of the competition have very little money to spend on good players, making it pratically impossible to think a Leicester case could happen some year. In the last 22 years, only Valencia and Atletico (twice) have won the competition outside of the Big 2. The organization is really awfull too, they put many games in schedules not meant for playing football, like at 2 o'clock on Summer. They like more the money of televisions than protecting the experience for fans. That being said, I agree we are as entertaining as Premier League in terms of the quality of football, but that's solely because we have way better managers and sports directors than in England. I don't know how humble teams keep finding great unknown players to sign given the difference in money we have with the rest of Europe, but it's incredible.
I think the opinion about supporting local still holds, but it’s a lot more nuanced. I’m an American who’s been supporting Crystal Palace passionately ever since I first discovered my love the beautiful game about 10 years ago, but I am not, nor have I ever been from South London. Thus, in addition to my ardent support for Palace, I more casually support the Chicago Fire and the New England Revs, the teams from the two places I’ve lived most of my life. I think there’s room in the world to support more than one team, even if one of those teams will always have a spot above the rest in one’s heart. Those of us in countries like the US where the domestic league is still growing need to do our part to help grow the game at home, but that should never preclude us from also following the best leagues on earth.
Never knew you were south african ive been watching ur videos for some time now without even knowing,,,now i love ur videos even more,,,from one south african to the next big up bro 👌
One thing in the la liga vs pl debate you can’t really argue the quality of the league and then say outside the top 3 for la liga and then 6 for pl outside of the top 3 for both there’s just no debate
I'm confuse, what does that comment mean by Robert Lewandowski has never won anything with Germany. Is that comment saying he's a Germany international player because the last time I check he's Polish. Please enlighten my darkness.
I'm from Essex and live in Portsmouth but so much of my family is from North London and almost all of them support Tottenham, even though most of them also live in Essex now. So I think family connections are more important than geography
You truly have a great speaking voice for commentary and a warm personality that shines through. Greatest football Channel on RU-vid!! I was wondering if you could maybe make a video on Ruud Gullit? Your thoughts and deep dive on him will be more than appreciated!! I think he stands to be the most complete or even the greatest player in football history.
The gatekeeping one about not a true supporter if its not a local club. Some ppl don't have the luxury of a local club. Some ppl don't have the luxury of being surrounded by numerous teams. If you're an American for example, you might not have an MLS team in your state and you love for Soccer might have started when MLS wasn't around or your love for it is because of European futbol. I see that gatekeeping a lot when it comes to Americans being fans of world giants like Barca, Real, Man U, Chelsea, Man City. I've seen ppl say "if you've never been to Camp Nou, you can't be a Barca fan." Attending a sports game is a luxury. And if someone isn't from that country that'd have to pay for travel and hotel. A fan is a fan. Its possible for someone who've never been to a live Arsenal game be a bigger fan than someone who has been to every Arsenal game. I get the cultural conversation. But culture can be learned and gained to a degree. Pride is a harder thing to gain when being a fan of teams away from home. You could if you wanted to make a case for Messi being underrated based on if you think ppl don't value how he scores and gets assist. On paper he's def a GOAT contender. In games, he looks like a video game pro playing FIFA on pro. He performs skill moves that blow your mind and does it on every level of futbol. Some of the best players upfront are good at getting the ball in net and that's it. Messi does that and gets high assist numbers, scores freaky free kicks, often beats multiple defenders at a time. Now if you've already acknowledged those things, then you wouldn't underrate him. But I'd wager there is a number of ppl who refuse to acknowledge Messi. As for LaLiga, the only way I in the States can watch a LaLiga game legally is if I buy BeinSports. Meanwhile multiple EPL games come on Fox Sports, Paramount, CBS, NBC. All included with normal cable packages. Hell I think every Serie A airs on Paramount. Bundesliga and Laliga can be had on ESPN+ but again thats having to pay extra for a service, while EPL airs on networks that don't require more than cable.
If you want to know why La Liga struggles abroad against the Premier League; the answer is Real Madrid and Barca. These two teams for the last 25+ years have been hoovering up all the titles and subsequently all the share of the TV revenue.
It pains me as a Man United fan to watch every one of your videos. Catching strays everywhere. We gon be back. Also. Absolutely love your content. Keep it up bro
Let's be honest, the reason the premier league can do crazy signings is not TV revenue, it's the rich ass owners putting in insane money since EPL has no financial Fairplay regulations and leagues like LA Liga and Bundesliga do
