That midfield was insane. Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Alonso, Fabregas, Cazorla, Mata, Silva, Arteta and Senna all in their prime. Best GK and defenders all in their prime, Casillas, Ramos, Puyol, Capdevilla, Pique. Forwads in their prime Torres, Villa, Pedro, Navas. Best team ever.
Hard to choose but coach do his best and he chosen best 21 men out of 23 only Arbeloa and mata was wrongly added to the list over ARTETA , Carzola and Aduris
"Its difficult listening to silence. But in that moment, I listened to silence, and I knew the ball was going into the net. " Poetry, from football's poet.
He is someone you cannot dislike. Always humble, always delivering. I am a diehard RM fan, but Iniesta is a top 5 midfielder of all time, you could argue for top 3. Xavi as well.
Uruguay did it in 1924 and 1928 Olympics, FIFA give them 2 stars on their shirts for that and That third Victory in a row was inaugural World cup in 1930 , another star in there shirts. 🌟 🌟 🌟.
@@omarnoyola497 Olympic don't count as a international event since it played by u23 players mostly If it gotten count then messi wouldn't face taunt for winning 2008 Olympic gold
Torres under achieved in2010 world cup. Makes one wonder if he played to his potential, Spain would of been even better, 4th goal vs Italy in 2012 was a nice assist by Torres. He could of also scored. With Spain's time of possession with soccer ball in that run , they should of won games 3-0. Don't see any other national team ever having a run like Spain did. From 08 to 12. Brazil in Confederate cup ended the run. Spain needs to stop being bullied by Brazil, to be champion's again.
What do you mean “started”? Torres was already word class for years before EC2008. It was the rise of prime Xavi that changed it all. From that tournament on, he became a different type of player. The focal point in the success of Spain and Barcelona.
They underrate David silva a lot.. He is a quality player and was there in the squad from beginning of golden Era.. I felt bad coz nobody mentioned David silva and Sergio Ramos in that case.
it could be a 20 hours video if they mentioned all those legends have passed through that Era.. Fabregas is not my favourite player but I think he was one of the most important of that Era.. Without his guts to take the penalties Spain would had achieved quite less..
@Rafii Guasp what are you on? he said the words in spanish which means black shit translated. even if its not the exact translation, the intention is very clear, so dont try to justify it.
zarni000 hahahahaja we take siestas very seriously! The same for food, we can start lunch at 14:00 and keep talking (we call it sobremesa) until 17:00-18:00 😄
What is siesta? Im amazed tht he skiped his siesta? Is it so important. Sorry for my less knowledge about it. Because Im from India. Thank you for your reply
@@welcometotech4162 Well, first, Spain is really really hot in the summer,. And we like to have big lunches (dinner is usually much lighter), which are have a very social character -always with family and/or friends- and can last for hours, so by the time you finish you get a little drowsy. On the other, as I said, the weather can be extremely hot in the summer, specially during lunch hours, so it's not advisable to go outside or do physical activities (children and elderly people can faint and sometimes even die). So instead we have a little siesta (Spanish for "nap") and then resume our activities when the heat is not so strong.
@@LaughterCigar I visited a small beach town near Barcelona a few year ago - was amazed how businesses shut down between 1-5pm. It was a ghost town. Then after sunset the party re-started - and they stay out late into the night.
David Villa was the final piece the Spanish team needed for their dominance. A striker who would fit their style of play. Spain still can't find a replacement for David Villa. Such an amazing player. It's a shame that not even one of Xavi,Villa,Iniesta,Puyol or Casillas have won a Ballon d'or. They dominated football from 2007-2013.
@@superlex611 I always wonder why Spain doesn't have any no 9 striker or any players like David Villa? They can produce great midfielders but barely a good striker???
Sure, you're the greatest team ever set on this planet. The magic you displayed in the span of just four years is absolutely unimaginable for one club to achieved. That's why you always remain the best.
The 2008 game against Germany was the first match I watched live. I've always been a fan of football but after that game Torres and David Villa became 2 of my favorite players. I loved this team so much, to me they were like the French team of today.
Spain 2008-2012, Germany 2012-2016 were very strong teams. Now in 2022 both teams declined badly and will need a few years to become strong like earlier again
During this era, Spain had a great goalie, defense and attack but what made them unbeatable was the fact that their starting midfield was the best in the world and their midfield bench was the second best group in the world. Unreal. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
gigo Love to see a small competition between France 1998-2003, Netherlands 1998-2000, Brazil 1998-2002, Italy 2002-2006, Spain 2008-2012 and Germany 2010-2014.
@@willg1088 Not easily dude. Brazil had also world class players like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo,Roberto Carlos, Kaka and many others. The brazilian offense would be a big problem to the spanish defense.
@@MoLetalis Spain, Brazil and France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands. This Spain team is the best ever international and second best ever, to 08 - 14 Barcelona
I remember when villa in valencia in 2008 and being topscorer in la liga. Iker play like a best gk and xavi as maestro teach his apprentice fabregas and iniesta
12 years later, Spain break record for the only Euro Championship nation to win fourth title as well WINNING all Seven Match from Group Stage to Knock-out stage without single losses, Spain became the only European Countries to have : 2 Peat Euro Winning Euro Final with most goal margin Winning World Cup with Fair Play Award Winning Euro without losing record
I fukin love spain , they are absolute ballers , how many little magicians they have produced in last 15 years . Xavi, Iniesta , silva, febregas, mata, isco , cazorla , there was one time that they could put two equally talented 11 in same tournament and both would reach final .now they are on the verge of repeating it with likes of isco, asensio, thiago ,saul, koke, morata
Ronakk Patel yeah, it was an outstanding group of players. I think they’ll be very interesting to watch at the upcoming World Cup as well, they’ve reinvented themselves under Lopetegui, and they have so many exciting players, with unreal midfield depth
The best side in football history. Xavi, iniesta, Torres, villa, Ramos, puyol, pique, alba, fabregas, Silva, mata, busquets, Alonso, Casillias, Reina, Pedro. Literally every single one of there midfielders were top 10 in the world.
I cried tears of shock, disdain and grief as I was at a bar in San Diego and I was one of the few Dutch fans in a sea of Spanish National Team fans. Good for Spain. They had some wondrous and exhilarating players.
2008 - 2012 The best era of my life: - PES 2008 - PES 2009 (UEFA Euro 2008 team) - PES 2010 - PES 2011 (2010 FIFA World Cup team) - PES 2012 - PES 2013 (UEFA Euro 2012 team) Iker Casillas: Best goalkeeper in the world Gerard Piqué, Carles Puyol and Sergio Ramos: Best defenders in the world Sergio Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta: Best midfielders in the world Fernando Torres: Best center forward of 2008 and 2009 David Villa: Best center forward of 2010 and 2011 I will never be happy again This was a unique generation in football We will never have a team like this again
It hurts to watch this as a Dutch person. But still, Spain deserved the World Cup in 2010, it just hurts we haven't won it yet after having 3-4 great teams, this team was lucky, in my country no one expected the success of 2010, and after that in 2014 the expectations were even lower. Haha.
If you didnt expect Holland to have that success in 2010, then you're not a real fan. Dude, im mexican/american but i know about football and even i knew holland was gonna get to the finals a year or two before the world cup. everyone was in their prime. Stekelenburg, van persie, sneijder, van der vart, robben. Their attack was as great as Spain's, although, their defence did lack but their attack was enough to manifest thay they were going to easily be in the final. i even made a bet with my friend in high school. i betted holland would win the world cup while my friend knew spain was taking it. we just didnt know they would actually meet up in the final. The one that should actually be surprising is the 2014 world cup. I literally didnt expect holland to go farther than round of 16. i thought their players were getting older, especially because of the extremely disappointing Euro2012 when they didnt even qualify for the knockout stage.
Torres, Villa,Pedro, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Xabi Alonso,Santi Cazorla, David Silva,Mata, Busquets, Ramos, Pique,Alba, Puyol,Abiol, Arbeloa,Capevilla, Casillas 👌 what a players, what a generacion
In my honest opinion. Del Bosque was really lucky to have won the world cup. Aragones was the better coach. With aragones the results were great. Their playing style was as smooth as a river. Everybody read another very well, and Spain was always dominant. With Del Bosque. It was hard for Spain to score goals. They lost to the U.S. and were close to being eliminated against Paraguay.
Del Bosque put himself at the right place in the right time, both in Real Madrid and Spain's selection. A Real Madrid with Zidane, Beckham, Figo, Ronaldo, Raul and Casillas and Spains golden age. Still, no one wins champions league, eurocup and world cup by chance, he's clearly an above average trainer.
Edson Pacheco I agree. If Aragones was manager in both 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012, they would have won both tournaments more convincingly. Also they would have won 2009 Confederations Cup.
Not true, are you forgetting 2006? It was a gift both coaches were given an excellent squad that were at peak in 2008-10. What separates Del Bosque from luis was his 2012 performance which was down to pure tactical success, in the absences of puyol and villa, so I'd say Del Bosque was the better coach.
These team honestly is the best national team i have ever seen.xavi is the engine, d genius of iniesta an David Silva can't be disputed.whiles Alonso's tackling an long balls is second to none.,casillas the best goolie, puyol an Ramos are the concrete foundation whiles Torres an d goal machine " David villa scores goals for fun.
The greatest generation of spain 😘😘😘i still rember their all time top scorer david villa sending van der sar into retirement at wembely 2011 maan #respect them
Ahh the memories... When our national team united the whole country, and they say football is just 22 guys kicking a ball, boy how wrong they are. Viva España y Viva el fútbol ❤️⚽️🇪🇸
Messi trash outside Barca, hes a barca product and the same goes for xavi and Iniesta but the difference is that they were together in national team too so they dominated, Gerrard Lampard Scholes, Pirlo, Zidane are way better individuals
@@azatar3395 first you comment this everywhere second your probably a biased Brazilian third they didn't have the best midfield of all time or the best goalie since lev yashin
This team was insane. Imagine having a strike force of Fernando Torres, David Villa, A midfield of Xavi, Iniesta, busquets. Xabi Alonso, Fabregas, Senna. Defenders, Ramos, Puyol, Pique, GKs Casillas, Reina, Valdes. I loved using them on FIFA during this time as well
Used to watch these when I was a kid, now the next generation of upcoming football fanatics will see such documentaries about this legendary Argentine team.
Spain did something that no other national team has ever done: winning 3 international titles one after the other: Euro 2008 - World 2010 - Euro 2012. That's continuity.
fifa and ballon dor is bullshit xavi and iniesta win worldcup, euro, champion league, league but no award modric just champion league and 2nd in wc fifa best player and ballon dor
Well in those years messi was not a human not even Cristiano himself could win it. The guy was scoring 65 goals in a season, 91 goals in a year, 5 goals in a game, 14 champions league goals, averaging 9 dribbles in a game, 30 assists in a season, free kicks and nutmengs like nothing and so on that's why they couldn't win
So in this generation, Spain won 2006 champions league, Euro 2008, 2009 champions league, World Cup 2010, 2011 champions league and Euro 2012. Golden age of football indeed. Plus the 2008 final should’ve been a blowout, one of the most dominant 1-0’s I’ve seen.
