Oregon absolutely wore the "Webfoots" because they knew they were going to get boat raced and wanted it to look like Washington was just beating Cal again. Their uniforms this year ('23) in our matchup looked like they stood too close to a Hippo doing its helicopter thing with its tail.
BTW, 28 UW players went into NFL in 1991-92. Only a few colleges had ever produced that many since the early turn of the century. They say based on statistics, it was the best defense recorded. That yeat they won the nat'l title. That year they say it was the best defense since they kept statistics.
