Softball Infield Drills- Footwork & Direction
Attention Innies (Infielders)…. In this video we will work on a drill that emphasizes the importance of footwork and direction towards the ball to help you align your body with your target. This video will help you enhance your foot speed, athleticism, and will help put you in the best position possible to field a ground ball and make a strong throw to your target.

Megan... Great drill, perfectly explained and detailed. I have been coaching for quite a while, over 25 yrs. And during the past 14 months, it has been a challenge keeping the girls focused, and wanting to continue. This is a drill that can easily be done alone with a net. And if a net is not available, some of my girls used there parents plastic garbage can. Again, the way you explain it is the key. Awesome work! Keep em' coming!!

Great looking drill, I want to try this at my next practice. For lefties, do you recommend putting the ball on the other side? Or should I keep it all on the same side to keep them moving towards first base?

I'd prefer the glove be held thumbs up chest high and present it as you go down to field. I believe the glove out slows you down, and the ball should be fielded under the left eye, and follow the throw. Maybe I'm too picky, but this is how I learned.
