I was in Berlin in Dec of 89... The most worried people on the planet were the joint Chiefs at the Pentagon.. How would the justify ¾ of a trillion dollars annual budget per year. How come the CIA was caught by surprise by the collapse of the Soviet Union? There was a fork in the road... One way led to a multi-lateral world full of conflict and compromise.. the other way was to a unilateral world where the US would rule as the policeman of the world.. The US chose the later where every objection was treated as the enemy.. This can't last..

Our cognoscenti must do more work to explore and denounce the post-modern pronouncements of the late 20th century about the 'tentative' nature of reality, facts, and truth. Rather then analyze Foucault, Derrida, or transfeminism ad nauseum. The philosophers' ideas always somehow get translated into policies and actions; they always manage to insert themselves between the labour and the capital (and often to sell themselves to princelings). We have to hold them responsible for 'deconstructing' our world, for speaking incomprehensibly for so long. Thank you Timothy Snyder!!!
