Hello Viewers🌹!!
This song was sung by the College Choir, St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Jakhama, in the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Diocese of Kohima, on the 28th of October ,2023, at Mary Help of Christians, Cathedral, Kohima, Nagaland, under the theme of the Jubilee " FOR CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH".
A total of 339 Choir members along with the Choir Director, Ms.Kethovino Catherine Kulnu (Conductor), performed at the Cultural Programme in the evening. The singing was accompanied by folk dance and ramp walk to display the costumes and culture of the different tribes in Nagaland.
This song is a Folk Fusion of the 15 Naga tribes of Nagaland, though there are 17 major tribes along with other sub-tribes co-existing.
"OSŪ SHAKER" - A new musical instrument was also introduced on this day which was invented by Ms. Kethovino Catherine Kulnu.
N.B:
The lyrics (spellings) in the video might not be so correct for some as we tried to put it in a way which is easier for us to pronounce while singing. The traditional costumes might not be as expected but we tried our best to tuck in all the costumes available. Just in case we missed to wear your costumes properly, we want you to excuse us and understand that we don't intend to hurt your sentiments in anyway, but we do love and respect your tribe and culture, and we want to inculcate a sense of unity among Naga Tribes in one frame.
Therefore, viewers, do ignore the petty mistakes and enjoy listening to the song.
Thank you!
