Kim Burrell is such an amazing musician/singer that I'm sure it gets in the way of her sincerity when singing. That being said, her being such a great musician/singer, she knows how to guide the musicians to where she wants them to go. As a pianist, you should be EMBARRASSED not to catch her cues when she SO PLAINLY gives them to you!! UPDATE: After a third rewatch, I'm EVEN MORE perturbed at the piano player. THIS. IS. NOT. YOUR. PIANO. RECITAL!!! They're so busy on the piano and forgot that they're not the focus of the song - the lead singer and choir are. They didn't even catch when Kim wanted them to start the BTC party of the song, AND SHE DID A BIG ARM GESTURE TO LET THEM KNOW!

This is why you come to sound check to make sure you're on the same page with musicians. Her spirit while singing and rolling eyes, outweighed the message of the song. She has an amazing voice, can't deny that and if you do you're hating, but her attitude is just horrible sometimes.

Mm Mm…it ain’t bad but it ain’t good either, especially if you’ve heard the original. Kim’s voice is an acquired taste. It’s not for everyone. For me, it’s too many runs and jazzy notes that often doesn’t flow as naturally as a Jazmine Sullivan or a Yolanda Adams (who also has a jazz background); both of these singers can give you straight notes without all the trouble extra stuff and they have wide ranges, especially Yolanda. Also, they sing from the heart and soul-Kim sings from the head because she knows she can sing. I just wished she’d slow down doing all the vocal acrobatics. Anyways, just my humble opinion.
