Watching all the character trailers might be a fun addition to this. At least the initial 12 (with 4 for each of the 3 factions) have their own trailers pre-launch.

Word to the wise; it is a good game, if you've got a masochistic streak. The combat is really easy to pick up, extremely hard to master. It's an uphill battle, always. If you do try it, I wish you the best of luck

For Honor is one of the last Ubisoft properties, to me, that has developers that actually care about making fun games. Over the years it's kinda fallen the same way Siege has - distancing itself from it's original vision and becoming more "fantasy" to appeal to a wider audience. But still, the OG game was so cool.

That little move where the knight grasped his sword by the blade and hit the guy is called a "Mordhau", commonly translated as "murder stroke". I was under the impression that it was mostly used to apply blunt damage to an enemy in plate by hitting them with the pommel or crossguard though, not in the way it was shown in the trailer.

25:45 yes, that was an event game mode. Basically a fight to pick up and use that op hammer every round. Took a couple seconds to pick up, so you could interrupt your enemies from getting it, or had to defend your team while they tried to get it.

For Honor is a fantastic game…and the small remaining community is very strong. Absolutely fantastic

You mentioned finishers quite a bit, maybe you should react to them as well. There's someone that does executions for all the heroes one faction at a time. I also know that you were joking with Apollyon since you don't remember the story, I don't blame you as I had no idea and couldn't follow it that well other than "Apollyon big bad, must defeat her", but the reason why Apollyon wants war is that peace only provides stagnation, complacency, and laziness to humans as a species. She saw that when society crumbles, the strong are the only ones to survive. Not only that, there was a time she learned about the other two factions, and the conclusion she came to was that what humans as a species had in common was war. And so, if humans keep going to war, not only will that determine the strong and weak in her eyes, it also gives humans purpose. The game isn't historically accurate at all, as this world known as Heathmoor, went through what was called The Great Cataclysm. Essentially giant earthquakes, storms, etc. Especially in the last 2-ish years, there are two new factions known as The Chimera Alliance and The Order of Horkos that weaponize magic rocks, and with this recent season (Golden Age) there are Wyverns, though with the it's more of a retelling of a tale to try and bring peace to the factions before the war between Horkos and Chimera. And with the season trailers for Year 5, you watched it a bit out of order, Frozen Shores was supposed to be the last one, with the first one you didn't see called Asunder, then Mirage, then Tempest.

The final thing with the dragon looks like the most interesting thing they've done in a while tbh. I was hyped for the pirate until I saw that it would be some weird hybrid mix between the classic european pirate and a chinese sailor woman. Kinda kileld the Jack Sparrow dream. But Lord Ramiel is cool because he kinda feels like playing Glorfindel or some other elf warrior. What I wish they did the most is to make a viking who actually looks like a viking. They're leaning heavily into that vikings show aesthetic with all the dirt and leather which I find really boring. Theres so many cool viking artstyles that go underutilized in all modern entertainment depictions of vikings because they're always made to look like biker gangs wearing black and brown while living in mud, which is ironic since vikings bathed the most in all of northern Europe. But they also wore vibrant colors with expertly embroided patters on them. Patterns like the Ringerike style which is often mistaken for celtic because some irish priests copied it on their scrolls. But not only did their elites have nice looking clothes, they had equally detailed knotted jewelry and armor. Particularily helmets, the famous Vendel helmets whom are covered in engraved silver plates depicting warriors like berserkers with wolf heads. The Sutton Hoo helmet from England also qualifies as one of them because it was likely made by the same people in Sweden and gifted to the anglo-saxon chieftain who was buried with it. And their weapons were equally nice looking. For Honor represents some of that with their golden hilts and stuff you can unlock, but I haven't seen much accurate blade representation. The norse sword blades, expeically in the period before the viking age, very really high level. You've probably heard people gush over the intense proccess of folded and twisted NIPPON STEEL used for katanas, but imagine making 5 of those, drawing them out into sword-length ingonts, then putting them together in order to get 5 distinct steel patterns running down the blade. Thats how those viking sword were made, they were crazy high tier in the vendel period. Yet none of the blades for the vikings look like that. Not that they have alot of options, thats another issue I have with them. Only one viking class uses a sword even though that was the regal weapon of choice. Everyone and their mother had an axe, but swords are the weapons of the noble warriors so they should really add another viking that uses a sword. Since they base some of the newer stuff on heros from stories or history they can easily make a Beowulf character, a shirtless dude who only wields a viking sword. I'd come back to the game for that. Though the knight dude looks cool too so might pop in soon anyway.

To this day the 2017 cinematic at 11:59 is hands down the best trailer of video game history. It gives me chills every time watching it.

Its really fun in the beginning, learning new stuff, new characters, new ways to play. The longer you play the more problems start to appear. Still fun though

Hey Chill you can actually hold the blade of a sword bare handed without getting hurt as long as you don't move your had up or down, no matter how shart it won't cut you. There is a great video on it by Shadiversity.

the last shred of creativity from ubisoft was this game , even tho im not playing it that much anymore i from the bottom of my heart wish that ubisoft ups the budget of for honor so the devs dont have to rely on fantasy elements to try and spice things up

Wow, we share the same thoughts about blades and blunts as a way to go. I also think that having crushed bones, limbs and internal organs is much more brutal and possibly more painful. It was certainly more difficult to heal such wounds

You missed the good times of For Honor XD The first 4 years were worth it.

Vikings never had horns on their helmets. Also the helmet the Warden was wearing at first I believe is called a Sallet.

It is so nice to see you make a reaction on this game ( absolutley not because that is my favorite game so far ) But yup you miss some nice lore and charachter introduction video but if you want to make an other For honor video i can do a list of the video in the good order ! so you can have a nice and clean view whit the correct timeline !

8:10 not really a secret order, more like another military group within the "knights faction" and society, called the Black Stone Legion. She was amassing the strongest fighters so that they could attack the other regions of the continent and keep the war for resources roaring

Yeah, i've been playing For Honor since launch, and it's...a hassle alright. Ubisoft has been really meh with the game. Fixing one thing and breaking two. After 6 years of playtime, i ditched it myself and went to other games that fill its Melee Slasher niche.

I remember the open beta played it since theen bur not only it, still fun

Appollyon goal was eternal war to insure strength for not just the knights, but the Samurai and Viking. She did not desire death for death alone, but strength in all. She recruited the Warden who would fight for her until the Valkenhine Campaign when Appollyon ordered the destruction of half of the entire food supply for the Viking. The Raider would unite the Viking Clans and lead a great raid upon the Samurai for they found Samurai Loot at an outpost of Appollyon. The Viking would push far into the Myre that is the Samurai territory, reaching the Samurai capital. The Orochi Champion would be released to help drive off the Vikings after the Champion after him was killed in combat. They would then have to fight Appollyon's people after setting up a new daymio for the Samurai. The Champion would travel to the Knight lands known as Ashfield. There, a Warden forming a new legion to destroy Appollyon. The two forces would not join, but go to Appollyon's fortress. Play the Campaign to find out how it ends. Xbox game pass has For Honor for free right now.

Ahhh For Honor...the game i love but it hates me :) 2000 hours and it still fu**s me everytime It is a really "good" game but If you value your sanity please do not play it :)

6:04 as an arms and armor nerd. nothing in for honor is accurate. theres one character that has a few good things but nothing else is accurate in the european-scandinavia regions. vikings never wore leather and never had exposed limbs when they could afford a helmet with gold detailing. they wore maille (chainmail) over the entire body besides legs and has beautiful ornate detailing when they could afford it. they werent uncivilized. knights were colorful and the armor seen is ROUGHLY 15th century with elements of anywhere from 13th-15th centuries. i dont know much about samurai however. all i know is that this isnt accurate whatsoever.

honestly if anyone is planning on getting this game just play the campaign, don't touch the multiplayer and I guarantee that you will have a way better experience.

I miss this game, I was in the top 100 warden players of the game before the game went to complete ass on consoles. I wish they would give us a fresh start with a sequel.

I will say for honor and rainbow have VERY similar problems, new heros are so powerful while old hero's get left behind, it has slowly moved more and more into the realm of fantasy, and both are slowly losing their player base's(although siege I would say is doing worse in that regard), there may be more but those are the ones I can think about off the top of my head
