One extra small info : If two people fight who both have revenge, GB immunity beats out GBs ignoring normal GB vulnerability rules, meaning that if you are in revenge, you cannot GB through attacks of an opponent who is also in revenge.

So, it's easier for hero with lower HP pool to fill their revenge bar, and faster for the revenge to drain for them. Is it safe to assume that every hero gain revenge at the same rate in the same condition, but heroes with lower HP pool simply has a shorter revenge meter? Thus it take less revenge juice to fill their bar. Instead of you said that they gain more revenge from the same attack? ((x+120)/7.7)-((x+140)/9.2)=0 is solvable, thus revenge capacity could be some multiplier times base hp - some number. Just my thought, mathematically it works out.

really wish the timers and tags were shown in game, even if it's just for yourself. Revenge is such a pivotal mechanic in this game that it deserves to be visible.

Honestly the idea of revenge popping instantly sounds like a good idea as it removes the scenario of "But I pressed the button!?!", it would fix revenge holding AND you could focus more on the actual gank rather than having a less to fight that has to hover over the revenge button.

I posted a reddit post about how revenge should go down after about ten seconds of holding, and most people complained that this would make revenge incredibly weak, I argued and argued, but this is reddit so no winning that one. Revenge holding is a problem especially in team fights.

One small addition to the super armor section. Nuxia's traps are still vulnerable to all forms of interruption.

Saw what the video was about and liked it about 3 seconds in. Also I know you mentioned revenge throw can be interrupted via bash/offensive feat, I've noticed that interaction also applies to the entirety of the revenge guard-break where it can be interrupted via bash/feat, so just to make sure it's known, if you are in revenge while in a ledge position DON'T guard-break a bash as it will still knock you back, throw a regular attack instead so you'll super armor through it.

I was informed a few months ago that the same amount of tags prevents revenge gain. I didn't think to extrapolate that to more than just two tags. So this is great to know. Overall amazing video. Though I still worry that people will think revenge needs buffs because they occasionally get interrupted or guard broken because they forget things like recoveries still exist in revenge.

Does the whole ‘holding revenge by locking onto heroes’ thing work when locking into non-hero characters such as officers, guardian and commander in breach?

Sometimes I get mad at revenge "not working", then I rewatch this video and I get sad again because it was just me being bad. Jokes aside, I do actually watch the video somewhat regularly, it's incredibly helpful.

I already knew some Things about tags and that you need 2 tags at least to get revenge but im sure i need to look Up this video some times again especially for that Part around 3:30 with more Players than a 2v2. One thing I would like to see tested on revenge is removing the “auto parry” feature on activation and replace it with a small AoE knockdown so you can use activation more offensively or defensively

Problem with not being able to hold ur revenge infinitely is ppl running away so ur forced to waste ur revenge on nothing. I know those that do that usually roll away once u pop revenge but now theyll do it before u even do that so u wont even get the benefit of the auto parry

When being impaled by warmonger, you are (or used to idk if it's still in the game) able to still get attacked, gain full damage but the impale still goes on plus the blood damage after hitting a wall. Had that happen to me once or twice already and wanted to know if you could maybe check it out

When I still played I had a teammate die in a 2v2, and when the JJ executed him, he tossed his dead body at his own teammate, a BP. That BP proceeded to GET REVENGE in a 2v1 situation. While I know that many people misunderstood the tag system and it’s untold fundamental complexity by the developers, I think it’s fair to say that the system either needs some minor adjustments, or the tag system needs to be switched out for a proximity-based structure. They already have potential coding for this type of system, with proximity being a factor for some feats in the game. The tag system, requiring consistent waiting to lose tags in ganks, encourages a slower paced gameplay than if proximity was used to consider revenge gain for a player.

Not sure if this has been answered yet. Does Centurion's kick still work against enemies with revenge? Last time I played I always wondered why his worked and no one else's did.

@freeze i use the revenge as an animation cancel on parrys. so i get revenge and use an unblock attack when they parry i revenge and gb. usually only on raider.

Hey freeze can you do a video on the role per character class? Yes you can play who you want and how ever you want but I believe if you have a good time with communication and know their role in their team i feel are most likely to win in a 4v4 like dom or breach

Thanks great vid. Didn't know about the tags. Pretty obvious that revenge holding should be taken off. As well as being able to build revenge while 1v1. One question though, if you feint an attack does that still put a tag on your enemy?

So what prevents activation, for example being pinned by cent then knocked into a wall by jorm heavy finisher prevents you from activating but the pole charge from lb doesn't prevent it, you can activate it mid charge, why?

Thanks for the video freeze. @4:02 was a little confusing so let me get this straight. If your enemy still has at least 1 tag less than you, you may still not get revenge if he had multiple tags on him already, because in reality all tags needs to expire before you are able to receive revenge? What about this scenario: 1. Opponent has 3 tags. You have 3 tags 2. 1 of the tags expires for the opponent, bringing him to 2 tags. 3. He hits you, you still do not gain revenge. 4. Another one of the tags for your opponent expires, bringing him to 1 tag. Based on what freeze is saying, if the opponent hit you, you still would not get revenge until the last tag expired. However, what if another teammates hit the opponent, adding another tag? Now the opponent has 2 tags, and you have 3. Does that reset things so that if you were hit by the opponent would start gaining revenge again, or does that just delay the resetting of your opponent's tags so that you can actually gain revenge?? This is quite compilated. I'm also curious what would happen if you were the one to hit the opponent, bringing him to 2 tags when you had 3.

I can say I dont know it was time bassed, I though it was: -Have more tags then your opponents. -The enemy have to be with in a few meters from you to able to gain revenge.

so if I am fighting someone and my friend comes up and hits him once and then I dont hit him for 5 secs and neither does my friend, either of us can hit him at that point and no revenge gain

Little late to watching this video, but maybe the revenge bar is the same as your health bar? So if revenge uses a point system for each attack, and lower the health the quicker you get revenge, so shinobis 110 health, means he needs 110 points to gain revenge?

freeze do you know if valk will get a buff any time soon? She is really underrated but she just does so little damage compared to other characters with the same light/heavy characteristics.

I wonder if its time for an updated version of this video? I'm not an expert on how revenge works but i feel like theres a handful of things they've changed since then. I'm wondering if the feed revenge ability for specific characters is still a thing? I feel like they removed it since then but I'm not sure. And also does holding revenge still work the same? Like 5 seconds out of guard and you lose it or do you have it until you use or die now?

Does the AEGIS perk affect the REVENGE shield amount?
