Same. That dude is too iconic to die and she knows it. I’m just waiting for the day Ubi makes a scene of him laying out a warmonger and going to his men like “You see men?!? That is how it is done!”
@@sir-reynauld-the-kleptomaniac That'll be funny, the Lion of Ashfield who had been deemed a coward becomes a warlord himself and fights for the Ashfield and destroys the Horkos Alliance
I always hated that sniveling coward I’d kill him if I ever got the chance to duel him, not that he’d allow it there would of course a wall of men blocking me
Ikr I always felt like I was the only one that paid attention to the actual lore of the game its so heartwarming to see that I'm not actually the only one. This is probably my 10th time watching this video lmao
Im watching for honor lore so you dont have to. For honor has haunted my every waking moment for the past 5 years. At least we have tomboy voice for aftercare.
Yo since you have an admirable appreciation for Aramusha, go to 16:10 in the video and you will see female Aramusha sitting on Shugoki’s shoulder. The chest is wrapped in cloth and the arch in her back gives it away as well 😊
Dude, just let the memes and the other the top bashing on this game aside for once. This video actually is something I just want to enjoy without this.
My theory is Astrea doesn't want to give glory to the folks that led to her downfall. Plus the story mode is already there, so they may want us to play it ourselves.
It’s hard to believe that all of this war and chaos will last forever because of one warrior who saw that war was humanity’s one and only true form. Apollyon may have not lived a long life, but her influence and actions shook the world. Because of her, there will always be conflict and war. In truth, Apollyon accomplished her goal. She’s won.
@@josephsuh5204 Conflict continuing because of greed, religion or ideology is different than war for war's sake, which is what she truly wanted. She couldn't get that she got various Knights to join her based on rhetoric, the vikings to wage war for resources because she purposely burned almost all of their stockpiled food, while the samurai if I recall were more or less dealing with their own stuff when she decided to invade. It's funny she believed war was humanity's only true form despite the fact that, eventually all conflicts eventually end when the reasons for them begin to diminish. Vikings had seemingly already stopped constant raiding and conflicts with the other factions for the most part because Gudmundr managed to grow and stockpile food and actively trade with with other two factions. The Knights didn't really start anything since their main enemy WERE the vikings, so they just kept the peace and kept doing their own thing. The Samurai... seem the most "untouched" of the factions since no one wants to go to the Mire because its dark, murky swampland and thus very defensible. And even then, they were dealing with their political situation separate from the other two. To be honest, the Apollyon only started this cycle of conflict via her making extremeists who completely believed in her (which is inevitable), via forcing another group to literally fight or starve, and then dragging the other in whether they wanted to be involved or not. Her goal was in a way "accomplished" but her very ideology is not at all founded, especially when in the story mode she'll make remarks to how quick xxxxx faction was to fight again, despite literally crippling them herself and thus forcing them to fight for survival.
This game is soo unique and I can't describe the combination of emotions I have for this game.... this will be in my brain and heart forever. Thank you For Honor
I appreciate that Astrea swears by Apollyon, but absolutely misunderstood her goal. She sounds so legitimately upset that the Chimera Alliance is -gasp- fighting them!
I personally think that Astrea is only using Apollyon’s name to gain power for herself. Or she’s a really good actor and trying to get her troops rilled up. Either way, there’s some manipulation going on.
that tends to happen to people that the ideals of a specific "idol", I mean look at christians, Jesus told them to spread love yet they're some of the most hateful people I've ever seen
@@rodrigorodero5452He also told them to disciple the nations, to judge sin, and to lead people away from sin. He also being God in the flesh set rules in place, and trampled upon the bodies of his enemies, his enemies being those who reject him. So I don’t see your point.
This game is genuinely one of my most favourite games just because it's so unique and the story is really interesting yeah sure some heros and reworks are broken but this game is still an amazing game
I heard somewhere that this game is supposed to take place in the 20th century but humans have been fighting for so long there was no time for technological developments that weren't war related. That's why we have a pirate with a gun, bombs, mechanically reloaded ballistas, and super accurate catapults.
The ironic thing is any for honor player can agree to this statement in both pure hatred and past happiness and envy this game is a emotional rollercoaster
The lore was somewhat weak. I am so glad you guys are taking steps towards making it stronger. Might not be the best game nor the best community, but it is going strong with dedication and devotion. Thank you, never give up on this game. People will appreciate how amazing it is one day
For me it's kinda the same but the first part until the Wulin came was excellent lore. Some parts of the harbingers were kinda bad imo, and the magic elements (*ahem* magic stones...) kill it for me, but I'm so glad the game is still going strong with a lot of devotion.
The community would be better if ubisoft never drove away the old players with the downward spiral after the marching fire update. Now it's just troglodytes who play medjay
I play this game sonce 2 months now. It is so good and now i know more of the lore. It would be great if zhey do more of those again ^^ And maybe make an FH2... with the old stat system... i heard there was an old character stat system... i wamna try it
remember that during battle of eclypse gryphon was saved by Hervis daubeny who apparently trashed astrea so badly that a wolf of horkos had to save her, and she's still salty about it
One of my favourite games. It's original, in both the combat system and the story. I'll never get tired of it. But one question.. 11:11 scythe hero when???
Must of not been around long enough to know it was just an event with the scythe and they had a scythe execution for 10k steel I hope they don't bring these executions back it makes them valuable
its cool to see the history of a game that you were involved with throughout its life, makes you feel like you were actually there when everything happened.
Im glad there is a real well worked lore in this game, Apollyon, one of a best "villain" i've ever seen, I love that ubisoft continue to well develope this. We see civilians and familly, never saw this in the past. Thanks you, I love this game even if he can be very painful sometimes.
during the tempest season on the blackstone fortress map, if you looked out to sea you could see a guy stuck on a tower, i like that they showed him off at 15:40 in the back
It was a pretty big thing in the Warmongers Release event. Did you know, the same lady who voice the Warmom or Astrea, voices Zelda as well? The contrast.. 😅
Love this. For new seasons they should make more of these like a short 5 minute video just like this telling us what the season is about and what's happening with the lore.
I mean I'd watch it, but I doubt it'd be very successful. Unless they can get their hands on a very competent writer and overall team. But, from what the game's writing has been like for a while now... I would not get my hopes up.
@@ediblemussel4115 yeah, I'm new, but from what I've seen, it started out realistic, but now they're just going full on fantasy, with dragons, ogers, and even the Omi
The nostalgia I got from reliving all these events I and many others took part in over these 6 years was unexpected and a very cool feeling! Great work with this! 👍🏾
The only thing I wish they’d included what happened to the warden, raider and orochi from the campgain, and maybe the other characters like Ayu and Stone. Otherwise, very good
“The Shard would be freed of the vermin that had the audacity to set foot in it!” “Venture out into the world. Spread the truth and save this world from peace!” Those lines are epic!
For Honor is unique among the current Ubisoft titles as the only game or franchise that still cares about it's original vision and identity. Sure, For Honor has definitely gotten a bit more _fantasy_ over the years, likely in an attempt to appeal to a wider audience- but nowhere near the levels of Rainbow 6: Seige or the Assassin's Creed franchise, completely soulless and shells of their former selves.
Yeah i can disagree about its original identity. Its not really how it stands back from launch and season 1. And that's because the OG crew of the for honor dev team mostly left after the wu lin and the other heros after which was BP,Hito,Jorm and zhu han
@@lostkhan1728 yeah, the writing has definitely took a turn, and not really for the better imo. I like some things they did but ever since they came up with the magical corona stones... idk. I enjoy fantasy and Kyoshin's cool and all but I preffered it when FH's fantasy elements were in the form of myths and legends and what not. I mean, yeah it didn't have much of that either, but what I'm trying to say is they could've fed into those if they wanted more mysticism or fantasy. Kyoshin's concept is fine. Good, even. But maybe he shouldn't have been given magical powers. Half blind priest-warriors who are very mystic in their beliefs and appearance. That would have been fine.
@@ediblemussel4115 I do think they should have stopped at the Wu Lin. That at least makes sense, if there's a Japan, there's more than likely a china as well
It’s nice to see that Ubisoft is giving the game some attention again. It’s probably the most creative concept and gameplay style I’ve seen in any Ubisoft title yet.
I love the lore of For Honor, and have been a huge fan of the game since day one. I lost track of the lore because I could never find anywhere to learn about it. So this was awesome having a recap and knowing now whats going on.
Yoo, this was really cool. Thanks for doing this, Ubisoft. I know For Honor doesn't have the funding that it once did, but I still play and love the game. I would certainly love to see the team have access to more funds, or to be able to develop a sequel to the game. Not only is it a great fighting game, but it also tells an incredibly intriguing story. This lore recap caught me just as I was reading through the /r/lorehonor subreddit, so great timing. Cheers!
Would have been nice if they mentioned something about the whole harbour event when BP released. I remember them talking about how they were inspired about what actually went down on the war map at some point. I would have liked to hear about it at least a little bit.
The story has a lot of potential yet it's limited tremendously by the game. Would honestly love an open world set in this world, or some kind of RPG at the very least.
i started FH during season 7, storm and fury, and the old main menu theme just brought back the memories of when i couldnt even block heavy attacks lol
This honestly makes me want for honor Netflix series or something the potential for storytelling is vast to be really interesting to see how ancient cultures mythologies and ways of life clash. Also our narrator is a very compelling antagonist she truly believes that piece is a poison she truly believes that she’s saving the world by plunging it into war sort of like a Apollyon but twisted. Conflicts and conversations between her and Griffin could be really cool. Hope they do more stuff like this anyway I love playing the game (usually against bots lol) But the Lore has always interested me as well.
@@incindiarybullet1825 I fully agree, honestly I just use Netflix as a reference because for some reason people don’t seem to know any other streaming services
I'd like a FH series, but I'm not confident they'd be able to pull it off. Honestly, I think the writing went downhill after the Wu Lin. It's sort of been getting better recently but now we have all these magical thing-ma-jigs. I wouldn't mind them if that's how it always would have been, but "old FH" was a lot more grounded, and so it's just kinda weird to suddenly see cursed bracelets and god-blessed samurai priests. Among other things.
In my own opinion Ubisoft proves that they love their communities/fans and they give us amazing things in For Honor. It’s crazy how old the game is and it’s still getting updates, even now they gave us an amazing lore and art style. It would be amazing if there was a new story, new cutscenes, and new warriors. For we warriors fight For Honor. ⚔️
As someone new to the game, this is super helpful to understand a modicum of what’s going on. It also helps me keep wondering why an Arab faction wasn’t added. Come on, Janissaries, Turks, traditional Mujahideen, it would be BADASS!
Someone gave me For Honor just as a gift, so then I started doing crusades of my own with the knights. Even in loss as a knight, those were the greatest battles I've ever been on. I miss the time I played with the same person that gifted me this game. I hope we could play again, when time gives freedom. Thank you Carlo for one of the games I never had my eyes upon, but then it became my all time favorite.
A suggestion: You should put this video or an updated one in the story mode tab, this would help new players follow the multiplayer story Anyone who agrees likes the comment so they can see
Really enjoy the lore, it makes the game experience way better. But I wish there would be more realistic and serious executions and emotes tho, instead of the rather funny and gimmicky stuff were getting lately (but also enjoy that). I also find unique executions for every hero way better, which in turn will requires a lot of resources from the devs but would be worth it in my opinion.
Es un honor estar desde la beta viendo como el lore con las temporadas va enriqueciendose, tqm ubisoft a pesar que ya no le das presupuesto a for honor
I’m happy to see MenaceCide being involved with a whole video’s worth of art, splendid work mate! I’m happy to have watched your growth over the years!
Been playing this game since it came out in 2017 across multiple platforms and only a couple month long or so breaks along the way...........after about the 3:30 mark I HAD NO CLUE ANY OF THIS WAS GOING ON. Been on for honor the most consistently of any game over the past 5 years and just now learning about the magic rocks and second cataclysm. BUT I will say I love learning about lore and the fact that For honor had a bunch of great stuff in its back pocket is great
It’s the fact that from this video we know that not everyone in the for honor game universe is actually a warrior we can see some warriors kissing there wives and kids playing that’s such as nice touch like that’s amazing detail
