I like this idea: the highlanders aren't actually Vikings; they're just joining the war because of an old agreement. They could have also said that the highlanders are ancient enemies of the centurions' empire, and have sided with the Vikings because the centurions have sided with the knights. But I'm just glad they're saying these guys aren't Vikings.
Matthew St. Cyr i like the fact that even though he isn't a viking, he is sort of like but not kinda a sort of viking. Does that make sense? Like he wears pelts and clothing as we perceive as vikings, but he isnt one, he is Scottish but a great addition to a "viking"
Slayer Repentless The Celtic/Native Britain’s were similar to The Norse in terms of culture, the celts apparently were better settled on land but the Norse had the sea fairing advantage.
You know, as a scot and someone who played allot of warden, I think I finally have my true main....the combination to my two Favourite things, vikings and great-swords. *Scotland forever intensifies*
My Mother's ancestors hail from Scandinavia... My Father's hail from the Highlands... To me this is the ultimate sign of sheer awesomeness considering I'm an almost exclusively viking player.
They aren't wrong. The Claymore is in the top tier in terms of sword weight. 6lbs is very heavy for a sword alongside the Zweihander. Some specimens found have been incredibly heavy but they're exceptionally rare.
It's kind of weird, they gave the longsword more of a claymore like size, so they've made the claymore into a greatsword proper, rather than a real claymore.
TinnedTommy, technically a long sword is a category, not a specific sword. A category including everything bigger than a short sword, more or less. What people typically think of when they think "long sword" is significantly smaller than a claymore. Of course, the claymore size for this game is very much exaggerated.
Lol I like how the trailer basically says "They're not vikings, they're only fighting with them because they have to." I hope he speaks Gaelic, it would make him the only character in the game with his own language, which would be cool. Also, you have been replaced warden, this is the character I've wanted since beta. SCOTLAND!! FREEDOM!!!
Okay so when this game first came out, I was never interested in the Vikings. But now that the highlander is here, he seems like the only Viking I'll ever play and possibly main
Maximum Over Saiyan Yeah LB is awesome. The feinting, parrying, pushing and throwing your opponent around like a high school bully is just so satisfying.
Black Marble it's something the Picts and celts did realistically William Wallace wouldn't have worn blue face paint because he was catholic and wouldn't want to identify with pagans
it would be nice to have that as a buyable head ornament allthough most charackters would be a shock to the fans for exampole that PK isnt exactly young xD
Some areas of Scotland today still have Nordic heritage from when the vikings invaded long ago. They even have festivals and events celebrating this heritage.
Teutonicus Maximus that doesn't make them vikings. The term viking comes from a norse word that means "to go on expedition". Saying people of norse descent are vikings is like saying people with English descent are pirates
Teutonicus Maximus Those are the isles, where as the Vikings did not take over the mainland/Highlands. Highlanders are not Vikings. Oh, and those on the isles of mixed blood have a special name to the Irish, which translates to FOREIGN GAEL, because they're not Gaels like us or the Scots.
Gonzo G.G Gaming yas finally a true scot around all these fake cunts around here saying there from Scotland, born in Dublin when Dublins in Ireland fucking bunch of fannys
REBORN CENTRAL not necessarily, at least not entirely. He obviously is mostly inspired by Scottish highlanders, but he also takes some inspiration from the gallowglass which was a group of Norse-Gaelic mercenaries.
Their Scottish highlanders in case you didn't know with all due respect of course the Highlands are like the farms or ranches or fields. The lowlands or low landers are the filthy rich people who live like the chirsleys or the Wayne family where their so rich they don't know what to do with it. But I was just kidding when I got mad people just don't know what a Scottish highlander Is anymore
Playing as the Highlander is super tough. Finding his offensive mode a bit awkward to mix into combos ATM, personally too slow for me, feels even slower than shugoki. Maybe when I get more practice with him I'll change my mind, gladiator is great!
Ya know, I keep seeing footsoldier takedowns, but they took those out (stupidly in my opinion), but here they are in this trailer. Please bring back minion takedowns! If people don't want'em, just guard and attack as usual to get what we've devolved to now.
Ibrahim Ibrahim but Highlander is nothing like Ragnar. Not only did Ragnar would've never used massive swords like these. The Vikings during that time didn't haven good enough metal or smiths to make a sword like that. But more importantly Highlanders are Scottish not norse. Warlord or berserker would be closer to Ragnar
Mr_NarwhaL Highlanders were Gaelic do it would be possible to find Irish or Welsh highlanders but yes they were primarily scots also the Vikings without a doubt would have the resources to make a weapon like that
They already based the Berserk on ragnars fighing style and looks. Also the Gallowglass warriors were elite Gealic mercenaries of Norse decent that wielded the Claymore.
For all you ppl that missed it from the trailers. We know he isn't a Viking. He is Scandinavian. The trailer also says it saying that Highlanders joined the Vikings due to an old alliance.
