machine looks mostly okay, though i'd also recommend looking into ampex 456 (or modern equivilent) since i believe that's what these and the R8's are designed for, I've got an E2 and an E16, the e2 doesn't really like cellulose acetate tapes, and works much better on newer formulations, that being said it sounds decent enough, but you could get some better response out of it with the right tape! just make sure you double check the size

Are u printing via it or using it as a wet signal

is the sound worth the trade off? i am interested in this unit. it sounds pretty good to me

Hey man if you turn the power on with no tape on, does the reel thing on the top right start spinning? Or is my unit up for a repair?
