First of all I've missed the last 4 uploads because my father in law had a major heart attack and our family has spent the best part of 4 weeks in the hospital but he's now home and stable so I'll be watching everything I've missed cos like I've said before you do an absolutely brilliant job of presenting these stories to us. Absolute top notch stuff and I've been a fan of the sport for 40+ year This video is going to be extra exciting to watch for me because I'm a huge fan of Sir Bradley and Froomey. I actually have a pic with Sir Bradley (in yellow jersey) and myself up on my wall in my man cave. It's a moment I'll never forget. It was by complete chance. I was at the Tour of California. I went to 32 stages of that race over an 8 year period cos I live in California. One of the stages I was staying at a hotel and next thing I know the TEAM SKY bus comes rolling up at the hotel I'm staying at and all the riders get off the bus. They had just finished a stage about 30 miles away and were relocating to a new hotel for the start in Pismo Beach. Sir Bradley was still in yellow and I took the opportunity to ask him if he'd take a pic with me and he said yes. I probably looked like a right nutter cos I always wear my British flag around my neck like a Superman cape when I go to these races so he must have known I was English. One of the greatest moments I had during the 8 years of going to stages of the TOC. My goal was to get a pic with Froomey years later but he never came to the TOC so I never got to meet him unfortunately Needless to say this will be a smashin' video to watch. 2 of my favourite riders and one of those moments in cycling history that will forever be talked about!! Some people like this moment and others don't. CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH THIS ONE PAL!!! THANKS FOR THE AWESOME CONTENT!!! 🤘🏻🇬🇧

If I remember Froome's book correctly, he only made the cut for the 2011 Vuelta cause one of Sky's original starters got sick/injured

For me, the respect I previously had for Wiggins was lost, on listening to him say derogatory comments towards Froome, directly after the he won tour, which was achieved with great help from Froome. I feel that with his attitude towards others, he should not have been made a sir, but the honour system within this country is in my opinion flawed, but that’s another issue. From the comments in this video, it may be that Wiggins now knows how wrong he was with the comments he said about Froome after winning the tour, but I think it shows a personality trait that on winning the biggest cycling accolade, he took the opportunity to criticise his team mates, rather than just saying a big thanks to his team.

Wiggins should never be a TDF winner if not for Froome. That's a fact! I always believe that in sports of cycling when the domestique is stronger than the leader; the domestique should be given a go signal to go for the win and not wait for the leader who is cracking. If he can't follow the wheel, so be it! Settle for 2nd behind your domestique who is stronger. This was always the case all throughout the history of cycling. Rene Vietto and Antonin Magne in the 1930s. Lemond Hinault in the 80s. Froome Wiggins and the incident of Soler and Quintana(Movistar days), although with Soler and Quintana they were not fighting for overall win in GC, it's just that Soler is going to win a stage a told him to sat up to support Quintana who cracks from the main GC group. 😅

No, Froome was hired to help Wiggo win, period !

@@Montoya4ever1960 Why would you support a leader that's lagging behind IF another man from the same team can win? It doesn't make any sense. Yes, he is paid to be a support. But the leader should be the stronger and not the other way around. My point IS, this is what I dont understand and hate in cycling. When the SUPPORT is stronger than the LEADER, right then and there the team should make a call to let the support take the win or overall GC. It's still the team's win after all.

@@savievankintWiggins had been deemed the leader since 2010 and that was never in question, what they or no one expected was the 'rapid transformation' of Froome. Wiggins post 2012 meltdown and Froome adapting well to the Sky doping program he was then targeted as the leader once Wiggins, also a doper had achieved his goal
@savievankint

@@DavidStacey-tx7on yes yes I understand this. What just doesnt make sense to me is that team directors cant make impromptu calls to make the stronger support to be the leader during the race itself. Maybe it's more on the business side, marketing, etc. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

We saw a similar situation with Visma at La Vuelta last year and that was a shitshow for a few stages. Staff wasn't making the call and it just wasn't a good look for the team as a whole 🤘🏻🇬🇧
