Taehyung has always been a social butterfly, a cheerful boy but he changed a lot in 2019. We were all worried. We coudn't see the old Tae that we loved in him anymore. He didn't smile a lot. He was very aloof. I was worried that the old goofy fun-loving Tae was gone forever but around august 2020,we noticed him behaving like his normal happy self again and they released this album in november when Tae told us that he wrote 'Blue and Grey' during that time when he was really depressed and felt alone. I love how he is strong enough to put his story out there and for being this vulnerable with us. This song saddens me and comforts me at the same time. I am glad Tae is back. kim taehyung(V) said he wrote this song when he was having a hard time he sid "It was during a time when work was really hard. I am someone that likes to work when I am happy and want to show my best to my fans but there were so many things I had to do. I’m a laid-back person, but because things got so hectic, I became broken. So it was very difficult for me and I thought about what was at the end of the road that I am currently on.”

This song was originally composed by V for his mixtape. He made it when he was feeling burn out. But after listening it it the other members thought it would be appropriate for BE album, which in general was made taking into consideration the recent situation with the pandemic.
This song is when V was down and feel depressed that's why the song is so beautiful. He want to fight his own depression, and finally he came to talk to RM and RM told him that they cannot help him but they will support him. Which is true. We can only help our self. To me the setting where they chose to perform it is bittersweet. It’s a very narrow space with bare walls, a bit claustrophobic and certainly lonely. It’s full of greenery but it’s overgrown and with very little flowers, and the ones it has are all blue. There is a window at the end with lots of light but it’s far away and the light only serves to bring out the shadows on them, not to brighten them and at some point the light turned blue, making the whole room look blue. It feels like a mind full of anxiety to me. Where everything that should be nice and good is there but somehow not right and adds to the pressure instead of making it better. Even flowers are blue, marking depression. And the end with him being so hit by the light that he’s completely in shadows saying goodnight, well.... that’s just sad.

This song was really deep and the lyrics hits hard. When I first heard this song, I started crying. And when I heard them singing live I just cried before V even got into his lyrics. V wrote this song to feel connected with fans and listeners, and convey somethings about how he too had felt depressed. My bias Taehyung wrote this song! He was going through a hard time when he wrote it! We all can relate to this..... Tae always writes songs that hits your feels with a ton of bricks! I can't listen to this song with out tearing up a little! My fav song from this album and top 5 songs of BTS. Glad you felt the way you did! As an artist I imagine that's what they want from the audience!
Congratulations on 10k!!! Tae is a very deep person and I love that he is able to let us know, that even though he’s an idol and has money, he still goes through the same emotions as army. This is one of the reasons he is my bias. Don’t get me wrong I love each of the members. They each have their own way of expressing their emotions. Hi Jovany ! This is another one of V’s masterpieces. Btw they are wearing New York Based designer Thom Browne and... his brand is known for the stripes. Yes they are in grey BUT, check it out, they all got the ( here’s the blue you were missing) ,blue, red and white stripes somewhere. Some have it on their sleeves, others on their tie-clip. Just a little piece of info ! 💜🇨🇦
