It's Spring and the Hogweed is at it's best. New shoots and florets bursting out and offering us some tasty foraging! Delicious - one of my faves! #forage #wildfood #nature

Thanks so much. We’re rewilding our little acre here in Ireland and we have a fabulous crop of Hogweed. I’m thrilled to find that it’s edible and delicious. Can’t wait to give it a go!

THANK YOU for sharing. It's in my garden as well as all over the field behind. I preserve areas for it in my garden just for convenience.

Ive been eating the new stems, not flowering here in wilts yet, tip- you can use the seeds in a peppermill, collect in autumn, use like pepper or chilli flakes

I just found your channel. I can confidently identify Common Hogweed but have never plucked up the courage to try it. I actually ate Ground Elder today and enjoyed it so Hogweed is next. Looks amazing and I loved your vid. Made me hungry! Organic veg is free and out there for you! Well done. Subscribed!

Thanks mate 👍 It's such a tasty plant, I'm surprised more people don't eat it.

Great video thank you! I have recently got into foraging and have just been introduced to hogweed. I’ve tried the florets raw and they taste yummy, cant wait to fry them up with some butter and garlic! Your meal at the end looked amazing, thanks for the tips 😁🙏🏼

I am so frightened that I might pick young Giant Hogweed by mistake. I mean even Giant Hogweed starts out tiny.

Thanks for this one!! I've just started foraging hogweed this spring and all those slight differences in hogweed phenotypes can a bit confounding - so thanks for making particular note of that! Does giant hogweed have a stage where it could be small enough to confuse for common hogweed? I'm trying to avoid confusing it with the common hogweed phenotype where the leaves are a bit shinier, pointier and less hairy on top but don't have a blotchy stem (fully green or with a purple stripe)...

Strangely I have just seen giant hogweed at a wedding venue on Thursday (and not near water!) and it was pretty young, nowhere near flowering and it’s such a different looking plant in my opinion. Once you’ve seen giant hogweed it feels hard to confuse the two! Have you seen giant hogweed close up before? There is a good video by Wildfood Uk on giant hogweed and he shows you the very youngest shoots. It’s very helpful 😊

I have to say, absolutely brilliant content, right up my street. I'm deep diving into learning plants and foraging, and definitely have to try Hogweed and maybe even make a recipe! Keep the videos coming, subbed and binged about 6/7 vids 😅👊

Where can they be usually found? Around what type of trees? Northeast USA

Are the sheaths around the florets edible? Just getting used to IDing hogweed currently but I'd love to try it
