Hi James, The one in the video is a 2001 Bavaria 44, it’s a sail training boat. But mine, the one in the other videos, is a Spindrift 43.

Why at 30 didn't you reef the jib and take a third on the main. With your heel at 30 you are asking for equipment failure and injury at 40. Not fun guys. Thanks for the reminder.

We did have three reefs in the main, I wouldn’t wait for 30kts to put the third reef in, and we had firled down to half a jib. I was ready at the main sheet incase we needed to spill or de power, which I did as the wind increased, It was a little scary, but we were prepared, so all was good, and we had fun. The only damage was the wind indicator blew off, and everybody got a great training experience, in relatively safe waters.
