How well has this held up? I have to do the same thing on a F1700 overhaul. Bought it with a bad clutch, so had to replace that anyway, doing all the fluids and filters while I'm at it. I wasn't sure how much oil to add to that pan, the manual says "To the fill line" but this is a 40 year old tractor, and there just ain't no fill line
Not bad. All seems good. Check out the other videos I have on the 1700. I did the clutch. Maybe you can see where I struggled so your goes better/faster. Careful with the hydro filter. It is reusable. I broke mine and had replace. Good luck and let me know how the fox goes
@@rushedscheduledfun3963 All done last weekend actually, and I DID use your videos ahead of time, so thank you for those in retrospect XD. Tear down went easy, Clutch replacement was pretty quick, pulled the hydro filter at the same time and had the wife attack it with diesel and a toothbrush for an hour (gross). We have the 4wd 1700 like yours, so aligning the 4wd driveshaft and the clutch was tricky, but ratchet straps and a little hammer-lovin got everything lined up, and it went together the last couple of inches with a little rocking. Mine had a loader when we got it, so I haven't been able to test the clutch yet, as I'm having a hard time getting it back on by myself (go figure). I can say cherry picker's the way to go on the front-end, rather than jacks, but we were making the replacement on a trailer, so the cherry picker stayed put, while the back end was rolling with a jack. I actually used bread, and a pin to get the pilot bearing out, using hydraulic action, I was really surprised that worked. Thanks for all your videos man. Good stuff, keep it coming.
@@codycroslow7444 I like way you got the pilot bearing out. That one is new to me. I would like to see that in action. I have seen using the gease gun and pumping it in. Probably similar method. The job always has to get done with whatever you have around. I have a video coming soon of putting the loader on. Its a struggle. Good luck.
