Good job. I’ve rebuilt many carbs but never the Ford 2100/4100. So I appreciate the detailed explanations. The post who thinks it’s too much detail didn’t need to watch this. For the guys who need the detail, thank you.

I'm really grateful for the time you took to make this. Watching it gave me enough confidence to tackle a rebuild on my Mustang 2100, and it went super smooth thanks to all your tips. I'm much happier to have done it myself and have an understanding of how the thing works! Mentioning the size of the spanners and sockets required was great too- being in a metric country it allowed me to just go buy the imperial tools I needed straight away. Much appreciated!

I'm going to add my gratitude to the many who have already expressed theirs. Working on my '67 Fairlane, and thankfully the original Autolite 2100 carburetor was part of the deal (some other ridiculously tiny thing had been installed -- to save fuel!!). But the original carbie had all sorts of bits missing and incorrectly installed, so this vid. has been a lifesaver of a reference for me. Thanks so much for doing it and uploading... we'd be stuffed without guys like you taking the trouble and time to do this! Muchas gracias from Peru.

thank you 330_Garage!!! I watched your video twice and a third time as I was rebuilding my carburetor 2100 also, paused when I needed to, It worked out great!! The only problem I ran into was the needle in the float, my carb started pouring fuel out the top so I replaced it with the old one and problem fixed. My '69 Bronco has been sitting in my garage for 18yrs, nothing was wrong , just busy with life. Anyways everything was clean with the carb except the excellerator pump, it was dry or brittle. She runs great now, next is to start to replace hoses fuel lines, tires and so on... thank you again, Alex..

A good video and about as simple as one could keep it. That is one tired engine but I have seen a lot worse run for almost ever it seemed. It broke the speedo cable at around the third time over and Russ drove that truck every day for about five more years with no heater or even a drivers door working. I had to steal it and work break neck speeds to fix as much as I could. New distributor, new timing chain, new intake gasket and water pump, new power steering pump, fix the broken studs in the exhaust, the list went on and the heater was a hard one as it had air and heat in same box but when through he had heat.Man was so grateful and it made me feel bad that I hadn't done it sooner as he was seventy and worked as a plumber. Coming home wet from some jobs had to no fun. Those carbs are as basic as they come but the first time they backfire, the power valve is done for, nature of the beast

Life is much easier if you make the accelerator pump the first item that you remove. It gets the float bowl top seal assembly out of the way and that's a big help. If you don't, it is in the way during the float steps as well as the choke hat steps.

I have a 75 Ford Maverick, 302 engine with this carb. I just refreshed the complete engine leaving it original, I washed the carburetor well and I put new gaskets on it. Has new economizer valve number 68, nozzles 53. The engine when it is cold accelerates very well but when it warms up and you accelerate it hard, it acts as if it is running out of gasoline or is drowning, it spends a lot of gasoline, it does not run very well and the smoke smells of raw gasoline. Is it missing or over fuel? The engine idling and accelerating is zero failure, no vibrations completely serene.

Would love to see a video on how to test a mechanical fuel pump pressure using a pressure gauge. I rebuilt my motorcraft 2100 using this and another video. I primed it with a small amount of fuel in the air intake of the carb. Ran beautifully for three or so minutes but then died. Responded well to pumping the accelerator pedal, no leaks, sounds gorgeous. I found very little fuel(1 cm) in the float bowel, and admit I did not add any fuel to the bowel(essentially was empty) prior to starting it. Since I believe I cleaned this carb very well, I question if it's getting adequate fuel pressure from the fuel pump? Would like to do a test, but no videos exist to show how to hook a modern fuel pressure gauge to these old fuel lines. Help>>>>>

I think that you got/have a good firm hand on it. I don't see many your age going into a stall somewhere and doing the actual build. I would put money on you to do what ever is right and not cheep out on this little project. Since I never heard what your intentions are I would guess that you will fix it to its best resale.I get a idea that this rig hasn't been in the weeds all that long judging by how green the grass was under the truck. If mine, I would clean maticules under the hood and color match that paint or fresh it up with flat black, no glossy stuff and tape off the wiring so it retains its natural state cause that is only once. Lucky you it being a V8 engine, I would change any and all gaskets but not paint it and for absolute good money vested change the timing chain and the water pump but put in the box all the old stuff as some people are crazy about the OEM numbers so they will see the gears changed with proof and they will rebuild the water pump. The cab and fenders/ bed will be last to light sand and clear it so they can make choice what color it will be cause they have the blank slate to work on. Really clean the interior, and unless the seat won't work put every thing back in but insulate the floor for the noise and change the dash mat and your done. Unless you really like then do what floats your boat

Thanks, I liked the fact that it was a pretty straight truck and didn't have much body work to fight with and has a cool patina. I have a whole list of things to do and a schedule planned out. (I also have some funds set aside to keep it rolling) I plan to put it all on RU-vid if people seem to be enjoying it. I'm with you the numbers matching isn't a big deal, this isn't a Concours vehicle by any means. Just a fun patina truck to fix up, make a little faster and drive around

@41:21 gasket missing from Walker part kit 15369D. Word of warning to anyone buying the kit. Mine came with zero instructions and sealed in a inner box that says returns are void of seal broken. Cheap shit kit

Great vid but come on, wear some gloves when using carb/brake cleaner! Those things are really, really bad for you, better be careful
