This video is by far, hands down, the best video you've done. No idle chatter, no attempts at comedy, just great usable information. Thank You. Thank You. I did my 69 Mach I seats a couple of years ago. PITA. This video would have helped a lot. I may have to take off the covers and try it again. Not as scary the second time.

My cousin used to have a 1967 Mercury Cougar. The seats were IMO that gosh awful green that Ford used back in the 60's. He spray dyed the seats a light gray and painted the outside a two tone of Jet Black from the window line up and from the window line down it was Silver. Now I'm not really a fan of Black or Silver but on his car the combo looked pretty good. The spray dye that he used was Dupli-Color in a spray can. I thought at first he had recovered his seats and he said no I sprayed them. In the very small town where I live there is only one woman who does upholstery and she's retiring. I'm glad I got her to do the headliner in my 67 Mustang Coupe a few years ago.

Another well done video. Upholstery seems to scare a lot of people but it’s really not that bad. You just have to get in there and screw it up yourself. Home and automotive is all BASICALLY the same thing, just different material and systems. You just have to figure out how the materials you are using works. Thanks for inspiring people to just go for it.

Step 1 leave the covers in the sun for about an hour. A nice a soft cover is a whole lot easier to work with. Also a hair dryer helps warm it so you can move things around and work out any wrinkles.

Oh God, I did my seats on my 61 comet, what a pain in the ass...

I haven't done it, but are you aware of the trick of covering the foam with a garbage back before working the cover on? Maybe it's hard to get all the garbage back material removed, but it's also hard to work a seat cover over the foam. I'd like to see a video on dying upholstery. I've done it and been pleased with the results, but I'm sure I don't know everything I'd like to about it.

I’m more confused now than before I watched this video. Is there another wire underneath that your attaching the hog rigs to or are you just attaching them to the foam? Seems like they would tear out easy?

Steve, is there another wire under the foam that you hog ring the listing wire to?

What is the ring tying the rod and seat cover to, just the seat foam or something sturdy inside the foam? This seems like it will tear out. Thanks

have you used vacuum to compress the seat back aiding in the recover?

Please show how to dye the covers.

I stumbled upon your videos. Have you ever had your elbow look at? I think you might just have tennis elbow. Easy fix.

Just stay away from the hogring pliers that you get free with a bunch of amazon hogrings. Major pain!
