Part 2 of the Ford Edge Panoramic Vista Roof Maintenance video. The last segment will cover the final lubrication of the tracks and rails. The cleaning of the gaskets and seals along with lubrication. Then the re-installation of the vista glass.
The final part will be the re-initialization of the vista roof sliding mechanisms along with a timed testing of the opening and closing speed in seconds. The results were great and the vista roof actually closed and opened faster by about 3 seconds.
That is a win for the maintenance of the vista roof.

thank you sir for the video. just got done with ours. i took a few short cuts once i found the culprits. the two rear sliders were filthy. they did not move easily. washed and lubed and now awesomeness has returned.

Thx MacTFordEdge! I did your sunroof fix this moring and now it closes without pulling on it. It closes in about six seconds. Initializing was pretty easy you just have to listen closely and hold the button in for about 15 - 20 seconds. Then you hear the noise the sun roof makes.

I watched both full videos and you explain it very well, kudos to you I will try it on my sister's Kia Sportage with panoramic roof and is slowing down when almost closed shut

Hi, do you think I can clean the roof and lubercate the rail without take glass off the rail? Just using lubricant spread on rail.

In my edge 2007 the tow pieces how guide the sunroof are not aligned because the left guide is broken and I can't close it how I can reset it or alignment that pieces I appreciate your help!!!!

im sure that plastic accordion like thing is there to seal the sun roof and not let dirt in, it also needs to be lubbed i guess

This evening I got home tried to close my vista roof and I heard a loud snap and realized my roof was not closing. I was very frustrated and since it was already dark all I could do was manually close. Found your video and really enjoyed it. Seems easy enough, but one thing I am not sure of is if the guide is broken what then? Can I find those at the dealer?

Really depends on what has broken. Could it be the accordion shades? Hopefully this is all it is.

great tutorial, however and just like what happened to me, we both forgot to put that plastic running accordion thing on the rail that holds it to the glass. hahaha i´ll take mine apart again tomorrow, it was jammed, now it runs smoothly.

My headliner came loose around the rear of the sunroof and now the sunroof won't open and the rubber trim is also loose and coming off. I don't want to tamper with it incase I make it worse. Did you get yours fixed or what did you do?

Any issues with that silicone grease collecting crud?

The dielectric grease is water resistant. Dust and dirt will eventually collect. This is why yearly cleaning is a must.

True enough it does require periodic cleaning/maintenance, I figure the interval could be extended by using something such as silicone spray rather than grease that collects dirt. Blow out the crud and reapply the silicone aerosol. I just bought a FWD 2013 Edge a little over a week ago, no Vista Roof though. Just my 2 cents.
