Thank you so much your the only source I could find on the size of the fill plug (t-30 star bit 2:15 ) My 2002 ford explorer xls has a bad transmission leak and until I can get it to a shop I gotta refill it.

My 2010 Ford F-150 I believe is the same way. I was lazy and took it to the shop. But my issue was the grommit for the electrical lines that was causing the leaks.

You cannot put Dexron/ Mercon in this transmission. It requires Mercon V.

What’s crazy is the correct way to fill the trans in a plug on the side up high to pump it down into the pan but Ford dealerships even do it this way so they’ve never clearly looked at their own transmissions out of the vehicles

Thank you very good information, did you know there is a check dip stick on that Trans there's a hey nut 1"-1 1/2" long I think? Driver side( Im sitting @ a desk as I write this), that hex nut is the cap over a very short plastic yellow dip stick . Also was that with the 4.6l v8?

could you detail the makeshift copper refrig line adapter? what are those fittings ?and the sizes? My 07 Explorer XLT Advance Track wrench light came on and now the trans is not wanting to accelerate. I know its important to check for metal shavings and if I find shavings then my trans is gone. but if no shavings i should be able to change the fluid and get my baby going again. please help i know this video is a year old but you are absolutely CORRECT about there not being ANY vides for this particular issue..

They make a fitting to go into that transmission T30 pan fitting. But its 20 darn dollars. Ya'll made it for a few pennies worth of scrap copper. My buddy has a Sport Trac around the same year that we've had to do the same before. But we weren't smart enough to make the part. Then again, I didn't care bc I didn't buy the part, my buddy did!

Manland = Will you also measure this transmission and determine if it will fit in the normal trunk of a car?

I'm very confused on which fluid to use for the transmission vs the transfer case vs the power steering. Anyone know? Have a 2004. Some forums say LV for one, V for another, other forums have it flipped....

IT MUST BE AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE TO DO THIS. OTHERWISE, EVERYTHING IS CORRECT. 💯
