You're the man thank you for your troubleshooting and discovery in this matter and sharing it in this video I tip my hat to you partner may your day be a good one
I just started having the same problem after paying $600 because my head & tail lights were flickering! 1 week after shop! Now they are staying on! I just pull a battery cable! Pain in the ass! Thanks for the info!🎃
Good video. We'll done. '01 My 5.4L - lights come on when truck is started. Switch off. Hear a mild ticking noise inside dash, passenger side. Any thoughts ? When truck is shut down lights shut off after 10 seconds.
Most of the time it's the dimmer switch. A test for u to try is get someone to stand in front of the truck. Then u go inside move dimmer switch back and forth a bunch of times to see if u can make it unstick. If it works ull know to change that switch out or unplug the light switch from the rear of the switch if lights go out change that switch. However do the dimmer switch test first. What happens on them most times after a long trip the points on the dimmer switch gits hot and stucks making the lights stay on. If u ck most cars and trucks u can flash the bright lights with everything shut off in the vehicle . bad design if the points get stuck in the dimmer switch no matter what you do other than unplug the battery the lights are going to stay on if that switch gets stuck hope this helps
So disconnected the dimmer switch... lights stayed on, the disconnect the light switch.. ( both switches off ) And the lights where still on..?? Any thoughts please..?
2001 f250. My lights turn off when I turn off the truck. Great. But when the truck is on, the headlights are ON no matter what position I put them in. I have them in the “O” position and they are still ON. I’m running new LED headlight bulbs. Just wondering if this is normal or not.
Bobby I have the exact same problem on a 2008 F150 Lariat and CAN'T find the damn thing, any idea where it would be on mine. Saw other such videos but it is not where they say it should be, UGH!! Driving me BONKERS!!!!! Have to pull the damn fuse to use it!!
1999 ford f-350 diesel headlights will not turn off - i disconnected every single fuse they still stayed on. Disconnected the thing you showed me and they stayed on. Only once i disconnected 3/4 battery terminals will it finally shut off. Im so sad 😭
Aight so get this. My dog has diarrhea. I take him outside tonight to let him go and realize my truck headlights are on. All of them. Not super bright, actually quite dim like the batteries are dead. I do a quick inspection of it and all the exterior lights are on. Brake lights, license plate lights, head lights, DRLs. The only ones that aren't on are the fog lights. Now, I've been having problems with this damn truck starting, especially when it gets cold. A lot of the time it wont start when it's cold. (I think my engine block heater is out, but that's a separate topic.) I guess my question is, could there be something the cold air does to something on the truck that causes the lights to turn on when it gets cold, thus killing my batteries making it impossible for me to start the truck? Tonight was the first night I've noticed the lights are on and I've been having problems for about two months now. I have two brand new batteries in it. I get it jumped, it starts reliably for about a week or so, and then just doesnt. Again, I've noticed it typically stops when it's cold out. It's a 2011 f250 6.7. Please save me from spending $200 at a dealership to have them diagnose that a fuse is out or something easily and cheaply fixed

I have a 06 Ford F 150. After driving in from out of town, I noticed a few hours after arriving that my headlights were on/ had been on while my truck was parked. I did not turn them on as I was driving during the day. I checked the light switch and it was in the off position, but I could not turn them off. Needless to say it killed my battery. How do I troubleshoot this and fix this issue?
Could be call ur deal with you're vin # number they should be able to tell you if it has it on it or not is the fart number which I provided in the video
I have an 06, f250 and my high beams are on when I turn my lights on. So at night, that’s a problem when I’m behind cars 😏. I’ve checked a fuses and nothing. Any suggestions?
@@bala3667 ended up being a short in the fuse panel on the circuit board. Once I took it apart it was obvious. I went to a place that only sales ford parts matched the fuse panel up to an exact replacement. And was good to go.
Yes figure out where your daytime running light Dodie's that's what this causing your problem is the diode is bad call your local Ford dealer and ask them if they can help you with this problem or give you a idea of where that thing is located I almost bet that your problem has to do with your daytime running lights otherwise it will be in the switch unless you've had a short and you have some shorted wires inside the truck but in most cases that I have found it's daytime running lights that cause the problem
Don't no about a Ford explorer if it has the same thing or not. Call ur local Ford dealer and ask or find some one with a wiring diagrams that matches u vin# of ur year, make and model. It will show u about the day time running lights. If not call me at 678 725 9953 and I will help walk u throw it. Thanks and good luck. Keep safe on the roads
