Hey guys love your videos. Canarvon Gorge is beautiful. Start your walks early. It's several ks before you hit the first of the turnoff points such as Moss Gardens and Ampitheatre. We didn't get much past those cause we were late to start walking and the heat in Sept caught up with us. Amphitheatre is pretty incredible and has some interesting history. Certainly the temp drop in there was welcomed. Take plenty of water and snacks and just enjoy. The C47 crash site is very interesting and there is the opportunity to see platypus in one of the local waterholes. Enjoy the trip! If you are heading out to Cunnamulla have a look at charlotte plains and the bore setup. Charleville has the cosmos centre.

I love your videos. In all the time I have been following you on RU-vid, which has almost been from the beginning, I have never been disappointed. I don't know what it is about you guys, somehow you seem to have the magic touch when it comes your content and style. My best advice to you is do not mess with the magic and continue to be authentic. However, I think you already know that.

Hi Simon and Liz. Thanks for another very enjoyable video. I would also love to find an equivalent of Google Maps or Apple Maps that shows the road surfaces, so if you do find one, please let us know. If I find one, I'll let you know. Thanks again.

We are about to order our 3rd van and we are using some of your ideas in this build. I am very interested to get your feed back on your under bed A/C compared to roof top A/C ? Thanks.
@TheLifestylePioneers
@TheLifestylePioneers Год назад
Sounds great! Can't comment too much on the A/C yet as it hasn't really been hot enough to test it out properly. We like that it's ducted and much quieter than our old roof top though.

you need to check if your dishwasher has a thermostat. If it does, try connecting it to the hot water so it doesn’t have to heat the water. This will save you. A lot of power from the batteries might be worth researching. PS still waiting to see what happens with your new water system when you get around to it, thanks for a great RU-vid site

I really appreciate you guys providing so much useful info. As you have probably discovered already, cloudy days could = 1/10th the max solar output, and even as low as 5% of the panels head line rate, if thick cloud, and the fact the panels are not tilted towards the sun. I predict, that within a year, you will upgrade your solar. Ignoring the roof vents, and assuming your vans roof is 5x2.4m = 12m2. The best house roof solar is currently 288w/m2. Thus, your 12m2 van roof could be 3.5kw. Ok, back in the real world, you could use 5x 460w panels (these are 1.6m x 1m) plus a couple of your existing 200w panels, this would make 2.7kw of solar. How ? You will of course cover some of your vents. The solar panels can be fitted to a frame 100mm above the roof, thus also clearing the vents. This would give your van a very effective sun shade for when it is stationary in the sun. Or add some more batteries to tie you over for the cloudy longer stops. And upgrade your alternator. Your 600ah LFP can handle 240A charging. Thus a bigger alternator, and another 60a dcdc should really help to top up fast during those shorter drives. I am all for fully electric (I run 280AH LFP + 2000W inverter + 90A of dcdc charging), but, charging speed is the achillies heel of all electric. I think it is still early days of all electric, and this field will evolve rapidly, as people fully understand what is needed. The quickest upgrade is to simply double your battery capacity.
@TheLifestylePioneers
@TheLifestylePioneers Год назад
Thanks! We couldn't physically fit any more solar than what we have. Time will tell but I think if anything we'd get more battery storage.

Hi and thanks again for yet another informative video. We are on our second PX3 ranger this time it is the bi turbo 10 speed wildtrak X, it is totally opposite to all the never owned a ranger rubbish talkers. Firstly driving like you own it is the key to any tow tug. I must admit all the tales of the transmission being a real problem did get me a bit nervous so I bought an Ultra gauge to keep an eye out for all the disasters they were forecast, turns out that is a load of compost for example towing on a 38deg C day at about 90-95kmphr the transmission never got past 165 F and the Van is only 3 ton and car was at 2750kg. In all it is a fantastic tow tug and I usually get 14 to 15 l per hundred towing. It does not matter which car you or I get every one has their own choice I really wish people would stop trying to be car sales people sure be honest but do not make up stuff about other cars or vans etc, you get nothing out it apart from looking like dill. Good luck with the 76 series and getting the mods sorted we are getting the New Ranger V6 Wildtrak mods are mostly decided so I feel the juggling.
@TheLifestylePioneers
@TheLifestylePioneers Год назад
Yeah, you're spot on there. Enjoy the new V6, I think you'll be very happy with it from what I've heard from those that own them.
