I have a 1988 ford sierra estate that is now running full cosworth ybb power .my engine was built by HARTPOWER in Essex England 🇬🇧 by Joe Stevens. My sierra is putting out 406 bhp and my Number plate reads F20YBT . Loved the video keep up the good work 👏
Great car! a few notes (without sounding like a douchebag i hope) the engine is a YBB engine, 2.0l, not a Y2B 2.3l, the XR4TI from the states had a 2.3l, but that was a lima engine, not a pinto. 92,5mm is really the max you want to go on the pistons without installing sleeves, they tend to crack the block if you take them bigger... although people have used their cars on low power up to 94. You should get a "greens setup" a 330kit, it really livens up the car and the engine and drivetrain is happy with that power. Good luck with the car! hope it makes you happy! (i know mine does :D) there is ALOT of knowledge about these cars over here in europe, so dont hesitate to ask if there is anything you need to know. And its great to see that the cars are getting the attention they deserve overseas aswell :)
Hi i talked on you on the alberto's channel (i was the guy saying make videos for your pretty cars!) and i am here ;), this video its good, not perfect, but the quality and the passion behind the camera is here, so make it happen and start bringing some videos (occasionally) to the channel, then you will became always better and at some point you could go daily or similar with videos, it would be fun to see you describe your cars into your videos while you drive them, also i'd like a lot to see alberto to test drive some of them or other people! Great work and have a good day :) !
mecagodzilla3 thanks for the critique my friend! I will constantly try to improve! Yes me and alberto will be doing some videos together real soon! Thank you:)
Would love to hear the sound of the exhaust without the music. I’d look into getting an aftermarket exhaust manifold, and 3” down pipe and 3” straight pipe exhaust. That’s a HUGE upgrade to a turbo car because boost gets built way quicker and holds way longer. With those 3 things, manifold, down pipe, and exhaust, you could see a 20-40 WHEEL horsepower increase. If you throw a proper tune on top of that, even more!
Nice..very rare over there in the states. you could've fitted oversize (stock) Mahle pistons, can handle 40 psi no problem same with stock rods and crank. TUFF motors only head gasket issues which you solved by using cometic. I own a sapphire cossie with huge list of mods making 600hp on 28 psi.
boostabuse Yeah it’s really quite rare and some people have no idea what it is Lol it still has the stock rods and crank. The only major changes are the slightly oversized forged pistons, cometic head gasket and ARP headstuds. I have been told this is a good setup for 500hp. What ECU do you use for tuning?
@@SebasWorldTV Hey Seb yeah should be good for around 330 hp at wheels using stage 3 chip and green injectors and -31 actuator....I have an Autronic sm4 ecu its not plug n play so full re wire needed.has anti lag, launch control options just use abs sensors for input..also for safety im using fuel and oil pressure sensors which will cut power if any drop under certain psi..and theres many other input and outputs that can be used.I been down the road with stage 1\2\3 chips and 3 bar map sensor and grey]green injectors which is good for how easy it is for install but stand alone ecu has a lot more control.you woll find with the chips its a case of it running rich air fuel either at low or high rpm..usually low rpm.have you had issues with thermo fans? they normally melt fuse but its an easy fix with after market fans, also a good idea is too run wires straight from battery too a relay and then too fuel pump..that way theres no possible risk of low volts too pump which will starve engine of fuel. I do have a set of bosch 803 inj, 3 bar map and -31 actuator if ur looking at going down that road.the inj are light green 355 not dark green 803.
boostabuse yeah man it sounds like you have a proper Porsche killer setup! Haha 600 on a sapphire must be a riot!! yeah there are times the fans won’t come on for some reason, thinking of just custom making an aluminum shroud with two larger fans and custom harness with control module. Thank you for the fuel pump re wire idea, never considered it. Dm some pics and prices!
@@SebasWorldTV Haha yeah it can be a hand full!! everything modified except for the box,it has a slight wine in 3rd the bearing so thats next on list, now you know ur gearbox should be ok. I fitted an alloy radiator from PWR performance here in australia its a direct replacement and fitted thermos,no need for shrouds also they make an RS500 intercooler bolts straight in. the factory thermo fans slightly sieze up and heats the wiring too the fuse box and usually willl melt the fuse box and fuse in that area. I love your Lancia mate!!! I have similar compomotive wheels on cossie. I will email some pics and vid in the next day or 2.
boostabuse yeah man, we have an oddball collection, we were in Australia a month ago and we wanted to bring back a Holden Ute but they are just too expensive. Our gear box and stock clutch seems to be holding up quite well actually, even after hundreds of clutch drops lol
Ford should alternate between Mustangs and Sierras for the sportscar range. When the next generation is due they should update the Sierra, then back to the Mustang. Would be insanely popular
In terms of getting parts what its like? I'd love to own one of these. They never came here to the US and the following over here in the US isn't as strong as say the gtr so nobody around me imports them or even works on them.
Nice car! I would have liked to have heard it after your build, and maybe thrash it just a bit. The one thing, why did you keep the small diameter exhaust? That thing needs to breathe! I am building a 2.3 for a Merk and it will be running 3'' stainless through an oval Borla. I am expecting to make close to 345 hp. I would think your build would be at least in the 400 range. Any plans to go with bigger exhaust?
+Lyndon Pack it's actually a 3" exhaust with 3"oval tubing!! It will be a street car and should be in the 350-400hp range! Need to finish getting it tuned but my megasquirt ecu is giving me problems!:(
Maybe my eyes were deceiving me, I thought it looked smaller. It is a damn nice car! I hope you can get it straightened out, I would love to hear what it sounds like when you get into the boost on that bad boy! Good luck with your tune and will be looking for your follow up. :)
It’s not recommended to go more than +1mm when over-boring especially on a 205 block, you have went 1.7mm oversized which imo is too much. If you want to learn anything about the YB I recommend joining passionford.com
So all in all a rather basic rebuild then? Didn't touch the head valve train, would fought at least do stem seals lol so much more could've done to make Alot better. .
