Awesome buy. Just FYI the reinforced bars visible in the trunk are part of the exclusive reinforced suspension system on PIS AND PIU. Basically, two sets of crossed reinforced bars allow for you to take a hit from behind up to 70mph. Testing this prolly wasn't fun tho.
I miss the days when Crown Vics were king of the police force. There's something about that car that I truly admire over anything else. The Tahoes, Chargers, Taurus' and Explorers just don't compare to the old school, robust, body-on-frame Crown Victoria. However, I still see a couple of Vics put-putting around here and there, typically used as Volunteer Sheriffs or sometimes still as patrol vehicles. My Police Department fully retired them but the Sheriff's Office still has a couple going strong. That makes me happy.
Great video as always. Looks like you got a winner for that car. I agree with you to not bid on auctions that require a winner's fee nor to deal with those that require a daily storage fee because unless you are a dealer with a truck to pick them up, you may or may not be able to get the vehicle on time. I am most envious of that 60 day plate though!
Great Taurus Chris, remember what i said keep on the lookout for any little coolant leaks when pulling out of the driveways. Especially if it has the original water pump. Hope all goes great 👍
Thanks for sharing I'm out here at Tucson Arizona and just found where GSA takes all their vehicles to for the southwest region it's here in Tucson I'll have to do a video and share it with you love your car man
I only discovered your channel not too long ago. You are really genuine and I like your content. I like that you tell things as they are with no drama that other channels like to do. I love seeing all the auction cars you look at and the ones that you buy.
I am SO GLAD that you bought that Ford Taurus. While watching the last video I kept saying to myself "Man what a great vehicle, I hope he gets it"! Then you did and I was like "HELLLL YEAHHHHH!!!" Lol.
Right on man. I'm pretty stoked about this Taurus. It was risky for sure, but it seemed to turn out good. Kinda makes up for the turds I took a chance on in the past.
Good buy! Always wondered how these Taurus police cars were. Our local force has a few of these that are unmarked that they use as detective cars. But, with the Taurus now out of production, they are starting to replace them with unmarked Explorers for the detectives in addition to their regular marked Explorers.
Yes, Chris please give a us a “How To Video” of where when and how to buy at these Delaware Auction House’s…Please. Now where are these Auction Houses links please. ✌️BTW, yes I too am a long time subscriber to your channel, you are appreciated. Thanks again Chris, Peace Crazyhorse.
When you pulled that part out of the glovebox (at 2:40), it looked like a seatbeat cover for the female side of the buckle - possibly for the driver seat - looked like there was duct tape on that one. Either way, what a great car! You always do such a great job with these auction videos and that auction house is really nice - very accommodating - what a great place to make auction buys from.
Appreciate it man and thanks for that. It was a risky buy and yeah, it worked out this time. Kinda makes up for some of the other risks I took and flopped!
9:20 - the 6R80 transmission has great gear ratios and probably makes it even "faster" than the HP would suggest compared to the poorly geared Crown Vic
There's just a HUUGE gap between the two powerbands,it's way more then gearing. You're talking substantially more hp and tq and over a much wider rpm range...the Crown Vic is the patrol car Top Gear mocked for getting gapped by stock Honda Odysseys..no joke. I trained in a VC, was a good donut turning machine, but couldn't get out of its own way. FPIS just moves out; but the 6F55 trans is nice.
@@hullinger haha, i was hoping to get one before you, but now that you got one and its a super clean silver fox, im even more jealous and motivated to get one!
Great buy. Stupid question. You said at the beginning of the video that it didn’t have the keys or title but you picked it up with keys and I assume the title. Did they find them prior to your pick up or did you have them made prior to pick up?
I got 2013 Interceptor Utility with 3.7L v6. and It leaves a lot to be desired. I get very poor MPG - 7.5mpg-9.5mpg. Plus is I can run E85 because of FlexFuel. I really LOVE the 3.5L Ecoboost engines - Its same ones that are in Raptors. And with $500 tune - you can boost PSI pass 500hp. Very nice engines.
Just got a 15 FPIS Ecoboost for 5k with 100k and 2k idle hours,I feel like I did pretty good on it? New tires brakes and a litany of sensors etc etc also has the ballistic armor upgrade lol def quick!
Yes thats a good deal, And i LOVE the 3.5L ecoboost engines, my main problem with them is, even though they are reliable, the water pump is run by timing chain - which is a shit design. 99% of engines, water pumps are powered by serpentine belt. @@bobbybandz9194

Greetings from Germany ..i love your humour and the interesting cars you see and buy...in Europe there are many Fords but they look different😉 .i wish you the best and good deals ....and Delaware looks very nice
Great video, really enjoy your step by step presentation, been a fan for awhile now! Looks like a very good car for the price, enjoy! Also very cool looking car, it's going to look super after detail.
Aww wow man, cool about your first Panther. I hope you like the experience. They are so simple and basic, no-frills, but that's what's so endearing about them too. Hope you enjoy it!
Very nice Chris that Taurus is nice i like that car looks solid congrats 😉nice vídeo, oh forgot that action place really deserves more visits in future times?
Thanks 👍 man and I really like the look of this Taurus, especially with those steel wheels and blacked out trim. And yeah, this auction is a pretty nice place to buy from.
Nice buy. Body looks like its in great shape. I see that car on the street and I'm slowing down...the blacked out trim and wheels scream "law enforcement." (I'll also move out of the left lane if you're behind me...lol)
Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I'm finding with I drive this Taurus I either get folks that move out of the way or slow way, way down and go too slow. Cell phones drop out of their hands and both hands go on the steering wheel. Kinda makes me chuckle a little.
Hello my friend, it's Ted from Texas. The local police department here use those vehicles. The ones they have are dark blue. And they are twin turbo.. I'm still looking for a police pursuit model Dodge Charger, black or dark blue for myself. Even though I had just purchased an 84 Mustang GT. I can't help but look. Good luck with the car. And thanks for the video
Hey there Ted. I don't recall if I responded earlier to your Mustang GT emails but man, what a car. I love it and I love the condition it's in too. Really an awesome find and it's gonna be amazing to get back on the road again. Super cool and I hope you share more with updated on your progress.
To be honest, 8.5k engine hours is really on the high side. Meaning the car is basically doing stop-and-go driving. change the timing chain of these engines to prevent future problems.
Thanks man and thanks for checking in today. It's been two days so far with this Taurus and I'm really enjoying it. Super easy to drive, solid and smooth. I'm liking the ride more now than when I was at the auction lot. The brakes are amazing and I love, LOVE the silver color with the blacked out trim and steel wheels.
I like that column shifter too. And the ride quality turned out to be pretty decent. Firm but not harsh. It seemed that dirt road I was on was a mess to drive on and even bounced the camera around.
I totally agree with you. Buying that Taurus without being able to go through it wasn't a good decision but it seemed to turn out OK, at least for now.
@@hullinger LOL! Especially since it was outside the fence!! Oh and auctions like that, what you described , being so user friendly,no fees, easy to work with, etc are definitely a dying breed. I must say ,hearing that some still exist is a breath of fresh air!! That’s for sure.enjoy the Taurus, I had no idea that Na v6 was pushing 300hp too be honest!
I have been watching your videos for years now . I am a subscriber and a viewer every day . I am looking to get a Ford crown Victoria for a very long time. I am all the way in South Carolina. I want to know if you can get one for me .
Any words of wisdom on buying these Taurus PPV's? I have heard nothing but bad reviews about them and the Explorers, but I'm not brimming over with compliments on the Chevy or Dodge products either.
Thanks! 👍 man. I really digging the silver with the blacked out trim on this Taurus. Especially the steel wheels and center caps. Thanks for stopping by today and for the comment!
So far I'm super pleased with this Taurus. A bit underpowered but that's what happens when you're used to driving a Hemi and the 6.0L in the Caprice. But overall, yeah, I'm happy with it, so far.
I’m curious to know if you have any idea what some of those high top vans sold for. I want to get one to convert to a camper and would like to get some idea of what they’re going for. Thanks. I really like your videos too!
Thanks! 👍 man. I really digging the silver with the blacked out trim. Especially the steel wheels and center caps. Thanks for stopping by today and for the comment!
Aww man, I'm pissed about how long it's taken to get the front bumper back for my Charger. I had taken it off maybe a month ago to have it repainted and it's still not done yet.
Me to man. I really like the silver with the blacked out trim. Especially the steel wheels and center caps. Thanks for stopping by today and for the comment!
Jeesh man, $40 per day is a back breaker! And just today I was sitting in the passenger seat wondering about the air bag too. There is a light on the dash that says the passenger air bag is on/off but I just don't see where it would be in the dash.
@@hullinger I think they had to do that on the police model for the computers they have. In late 1993 I bought the first 1994 Mustang GT Convertible that came on the lot. I was coming through Utah and came over a small hill on the highway and the UHP was waiting there. He was in a Crown Vic. I was doing 90, before they changed the speed limits. He came to my passenger window and looked around the interior and said he missed his Mustang. He couldn't have a 1994 version because of the passenger airbag, as it would blow his computer back at him in a crash.
Thanks! 👍 man. I really digging the silver with the blacked out trim. Especially the steel wheels and center caps. Thanks for stopping by today and for the comment!
What kind of dealer license do you have that allows you to hop state to state to make purchases it would be helpful thanks oh by the way love your videos and clarity and honesty thanks
Two quick questions. Were the rear door locks and windows operational when you got the car? What all was entailed in your immediate maintenance. Nice car.
What kind of rust issues do u find in auction vehicles I'm guessing ur from Delaware seeing the auctions u go to I'm in pa just wondering we have stayed in lewes del. I would like to find an older car or trk in good shape most here are eaten away because of the salt do u also sell cars thank you for ur time
