It doesn’t really matter the sequence. The important is to have a green light at the end of the programming then you can remove the device or start the vehicle.

Never seen a Transit van with alarm but on Custom I have seen an alarm and depends what alarm is fitted as there are two type of alarms. Normally when you do not have original key and you want to program a new key then you must turn ignition on with the new key and wait about 10 min until the horn of the car sounds twice and then you have to plug the device to program but if the alarm is CAT1 then communication can be cut with the BCM
