Makes it a little easier having the ribs of the transit frame out part of it so you know where it’s centered!

I was wondering about sitting or climbing on the roof to install, well I looked at your video and there are so many dents on that roof that would need autobody repair that is on the way to do this. It would be better to cut from the inside or use a proper scaffolding to not sit of climb on top of a thin roof. This situation must happen to everyone who tries this

We live in southwest Texas and trying to use the butyl tape is almost impossible at our temperatures. I cut it to length and put in the freezer for 5-10 min and the paper peels off real easy and it's easier to to install.

Another good video Nate. Thank you. Every Maxxair fan installation I've seen on the internet stops about where you did and leaves out how to run the wires from the fan through the channel to connect to the power source... in a way that protects the wires. It seems a poor design to me to simply run wires through an area where the trim piece will go and there's potential for pinching. The other thing I've been disappointed about with the Maxxair fans and I think bears mentioning in a video like this is the inability of the fan to handle what would be considered a fairly normal voltage and the need that many seem to have to install voltage regulators.

How much would approx cost 💲 for ford transit series cargo van? I want to build by my self by watching your videos but it’s overwhelming. Or I can buy a van and drive to Idaho and you can build it for me. Thanks

Do you think it´s wise to attach bare (untreated) wood to metal? I would recomend to treat the wood with waterproof stain and fill the predrilled screw-holes with glue. If not the wood will act like a sponge, and cause leakage after some time.

Apologies if this sounds a little negative, I really enjoy your content, but, when I did mine I supported the roof from below to stop it flexing and I knelt on thick foam to spread my weight. Also, I used the short fat self tapping screws to attach the fan to the flange; I believe that the white headed screws are meant to be used for attaching the trim to the ceiling.

Always uneasy cutting a hole into the roof!

How do you feel about the fan after a year later? I’ve heard there can be someone frequent issues with them so I’m wondering if just having a plain 12 volt stand up van and leaving my bug screen slider windows open would be just as good. Would also save me money can’t decide based on mixed reviews😅
