Ford Transit Camper Conversion Vanlife Build Series Part 1: Layout, Subfloor and Factory Wiring Tuck 

thank you for watching, more videos going up soon, got bogged down actually building so havent had much time to edit, but this van is done and has been on the road for a month now!

Just construction adhesive until the subfloor osb goes down, then I use countersunk wood to metal screws through the osb and the strips into the metal floor beneath. I always try to line up the rows of screws so they go into “frame rails” as to not hit anything underneath and hide the screw tips

This build is well under the weight capacity of the awd sienna so we didn’t feel that any other modifications were necessary. Might lift it in the future.

Try to find tongue and groove 23/32” “exposure 1 or exterior” rated OSB for the subfloor, for the insulation I use 1/2” r-tech insulations sheets with the reflective backing (lay down shiny side up), and 1/2” ply wood for the spacer strips running across the van (I cut them at 1.5” wide usually). Construction adhesive to hold ply strips and foam in place and keep it quiet. Everything I use can be bought at the big orange store. A 170 sprinter and the 148 transit requires 4 sheets of osb, 3 sheets of insulation, and 1 sheet ply. If you use the lifeproof vinyl floor plan on using 4-5 boxes. Just did one on a sprinter yesterday and cost for everything including vinyl floor and hardware was $850.

that definitely happens haha! but there are so many resources now a days with youtube and google that almost anyone can do anything they want to i think. I learned all this from various previous jobs and I grew up working on a sawmill and shop setting so that helps, but many things I have learned and tried just from watching youtube myself.
