When you try n turn it on and hear 1 click it's the starter or the starter cylindnod, or a ignition switch but hear a click shouldnt be ignition switch sounds like the the starter lol. STARTER man
Was having same problem had to press the transmission release next to the shifter. Shifted to neutral moved 2 feet forward put it back in park and it fired right up
I am having this problem right now I am going to try to change the starter relay switch it's like 20 bucks at orielys gonna do it later today I'll try to come back and let everyone know
Got starter "checked" by a guy that I don't feel knew what he was doing he said it was good relay switch is fine cables are good idk what else it could be unless it's the wiring it's weird if I turn the steering wheel a certain way it will start so idk but the cheaper of those is to replace the starter so got to save to get that done and hope for the best
@@abelfuentes1 no it still is having issues. I now have to change the tie rod ends. Waiting to get another jack. I think it's most likely the starter. I've changed out everything else, it still has issues starting. I can get it to start by turning the wheel, pressing the brake and also at times putting it in drive then back to park, I just have to mess with it. It is taking me longer to get it started though. I found one on eBay for 160. But that was a while back. My husband found one for I think 70, I'm not sure where though. I'm hoping it's the starter, if not I can only think of it needing rewired. But, the way it's doing it's acting like the starter. It clicks under the hood now too, before was just inside. So could of had a bad relay to begin with, making the starter work harder. I'm not really sure honestly. I'm sorry I couldn't been more help. If by chance I remember, after getting everything fixed on this car, I'll update this. Like I said I tried everything but the starter first. Those starters are pretty steep, for a good one anyways. I have to try and save some money up to get one. So it might take a bit to get the update.
I wish I knew more about cars, lol. We got a 2016 fusion not long ago. Now I love these cars. But, they have issues. The 16 is starting to do like the 06. The tie rods and some kind of electrical crap is going on. We can't get the Bluetooth to work. I've done all I can on that, too. I feel like my husband is hard on driving. Like his turns are hard and he wears out brakes fast. Funny how on both cars the tie rods need replaced, lol. But, I'll eventually get things fixed. Probably not the radio, I've done all I can for that so looks like dealership will have to do it. That's gonna cost there. But it is what it is. Good luck hope you have better chance fixing yours.
I promise you it wasn’t the starter am I right ? It’s the battery man I know because I had the same exact issue with my fusion and you said it would start at least then die out that’s not necessary true at all the battery could be so bad that it can’t start the car at all which was my case for my car
First off, if you’re having the same exact issue, replace the starter relay, #55 under hood. Black box beside battery. As for ignition cylinder, you have to have the key, and by removing the steering column trim. And also going to need programmed into the PATS system. Can see you can search RU-vid videos, search for that as well if you want step by step. But you better not f* up during PATS programming.
