It was a brilliant first attempt aye mate. But there was one light on area so I had to go buy more paint as I didn’t budget on respirating any parts. so I then had to mix the existing paint with the new batch to avoid colour variations so Today I’m going to respray the front guards again.
Your making great progress Jason, I've never seen such attention to detail while painting an engine. She is going to look amazing when you put her back together!

Awesome man! I think you'll be happy with the colour as it is easy to maintain if there is an accident or a scratch etc. It will look super sharp too with those panel lines looking pristine!
Turns out I’m going to give the front guards another hit with colour mate…. There was a bit of light on on a couple of areas that after polishing revealed themselves. But the main reason for the respray was that I bought another 4 litres of paint just to be safe and I’m going to mix it in with the original batch so I have one consistent batch. Hope all is well with Amanda and your good self. Looking forward to catching up in Melly later this year.. we can go visit Pete too
Looks mint mate! Colour matching at your supplier is awful. Quite a while ago, I got some pale blue matched that may as well have been orange. I think they send more complex colours to Milsome's anyway - you should go see them instead. That car is going to look incredible!
With flame proof paints for headers, I find the best results and paint life is achieved by applying a flame proof primer first. VHT SP100 and SP118 are the flame proof primers (grey or white).

Nice job Mate 👍. Just a question about the heat paint on the headers. Does it have to be cured at a high temperature to fully set? I used similar paint on a fire pit and had to put all the pieces in a bbg and cook them. Cheers
Hi Jason. Great progress, I think it will look very nice in that original colour. Your work on that waistline accent is much better than the factory, remember they looked a bit undefined when they were new. Cars with protector strips looked sharper! All the best.
Yeah I’m glad I’ve come full circle on the colour options aye mate. That was its factory colour and it seems appropriate to restore the old girl in it.
I like the colour. I’m not entirely sure what it actually looks like because I’m colourblind. It could be a bit darker or lighter 😜. It won’t contrast the chrome quite as well, but that’s okay.
It’s a warm creamy white mate, and you are 100% correct in thinking about the chrome contrast. I have the same view. Hope all is well with you and the family mate
